Instruction Manual for Sonship

This instruction manual is based on scripture (truth) and my personal experience of loving God and
people. It is not a method but a journey into an intimate relationship with God producing His life inside
me here on earth. Most importantly it is a writing about love.

This writing is for you and about how God sees you. It is about who you became when you were born
again with the Holy Spirit living inside you, revealing similarities of Jesus's birth and yours and the
mandates of Jesus for your life. I have found in the body of Christ many have had wrong teachings about
sin. Many have been taught, as I was, they will always have sin habits. This would be a lie. God is a God
of love. He has dealt with sin and every other obstacle in the life of a christian man or woman. He has
left nothing undone. The misconceptions are on our end of it and usually have something to do with
what we believe and what we have been taught. In the Kingdom you receive what you believe, so if we
believe everything God says about us we will produce the life of God here on earth. In fact we will look
just like Jesus. When we are born again we are born into the Spirit and therefore live by the spirit. Even
through our failures God does not leave us or forsake us.

God is Spirit:

As human beings we are born into the fallen nature of Adam and Eve and all humanity comes from
them. When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the “knowledge of good and evil,” the first thing we see
is that their eyes are opened and there is an instant shame of being naked in front of each other. Why
was it okay a moment before and then all of a sudden not okay? Their ears were also opened as “they
heard God walking”. God is a Spirit. Then as the cool of the morning was felt on their skin they hid in
fear. Carnality and flesh sensory begins, whereas prior, it appeared they lived in Spirit fellowship with
God. Just a thought, I want you to see the difference. Would it be fair to say that if God is a Spirit and we
are created in His image that we are spirit with a flesh covering? The following scriptures (truth) tell us
how we are formed and tell us God is a spirit.

Gen 1:2 “And the earth was formless and void and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the
Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.”

Man: Gen 2:7 “Then God said let us make man in Our Image according to Our likeness.”

Man: Gen 2:7 “Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils
the breath of life and man became a living being.”

I’m trying to keep this very basic, to start a way of thinking and seeing that will produce a belief. I’m not
going to go into the fall of man, only that through Adam’s disobedience sin entered the world and
immediately shame, fear and hiding from God began. Also, another knowledge other than God was
revealed: the knowledge of good and evil.

God sends Jesus, born of a virgin: By the power of the Holy Spirit, God was born as one of us. He
became flesh.

Matt 1:8-22 TPT “This was how Jesus, God’s Anointed One, was born. His mother Mary had promised
Joseph to be his wife, but while she was still a virgin she was pregnant through the power of the Holy
Spirit. Her fiancé, Joseph, was a good man full of integrity and didn’t want to disgrace her, but when he
learned of her pregnancy he secretly planned to break the engagement. While he was still debating with
himself about what to do, he fell asleep and had a supernatural dream. An angel from the Lord appeared
to him in clear light and said, “Joseph, descendant of David, don’t hesitate to take Mary into your home
as your wife, because the power of the Holy Spirit has conceived a child in her womb. She will give birth
to a son and you are to name Him Savior; for He is destined to give His life to save His people from their
sins.” This happened so that what the Lord spoke through His prophet would come true.

Matthew 1:23 Listen! A virgin will be pregnant, she will give birth to a Son, And He will be known as
‘Emmanuel’, which means in Hebrew, “God became one of us.”

So we see here that God sends Jesus, His Son, not only to be the sacrifice for our sins but to model the
life we were meant to live as sons in authority, power and dominion. Jesus is a man with the Spirit of
God in Him; or God himself in the likeness of sinful flesh. You see flesh has a likeness different from
God’s Spirit. God wrapped himself in flesh without sin, without a fallen nature.

The Baptism and Life of Jesus (or God in the flesh):

John 3:5-6 “Jesus answered ‘I speak an eternal truth: Unless you are born of Water and Spirit-Wind, you
will never enter the Kingdom realm of God. For the natural realm can only give birth to things that are
natural, but the Spiritual realm gives birth to supernatural life!” (The Passion Translation, Brian
Simmons).

The man Jesus comes up out of the water, God speaks not only to Jesus but to you. A man or woman
being baptized coming up out of the water is the same thing as Jesus coming up, you are now a son.
God’s greatest delight is in you!

Mark 1:9 TPT “One day, Jesus came from the Galilean village of Nazareth and had John immerse Him in
the Jordan River. The moment Jesus rose up out of the water, John saw the heavenly realm split open
and the Holy Spirit descend like a dove and rested upon Him. At the same time, a voice from heaven,
saying: ‘You are My Son, My cherished One, and My greatest delight is in You.”

Now I want to take a moment and explain that although Jesus was full God and fully man he did not
operate as God but only as a man. The next verse in Mark proves that.

Mark 12:13 TPT “Immediately after this He was compelled by the Holy Spirit to go into an uninhabited
desert region. He remained there in the wilderness for forty days enduring the ordeals (or temptations)
of Satan’s tests.”

As we know God cannot be tempted but a man can.

My point is the man Jesus coming up out of the water at His baptism is also a model if you will of a new
believer coming up out of the water now a son or daughter and God’s same words apply to you. “You
are my son, my cherished one, and my greatest delight is in you.”

Philippians 2: 5-8 “And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us, let His
mindset become your motivation. He existed in the form of God, yet he gave no thought to seizing
equality with God as His supreme prize. Instead he emptied himself of His outward glory by reducing
himself to the form of a lowly Servant. He became human! He humbled himself and became vulnerable,
choosing to be revealed as a man and was obedient. He was a perfect example, even in His death- a
criminal’s death.”

Jesus listened to the Father and lived by the Spirit not by the flesh.

John 14:6 TPT “Jesus explained, ‘I Am the way, I Am the truth, and I Am the life. No one comes next to
the Father except through union with me. To know Me is to know My Father too.’”

The Life and Ministry of Jesus Christ; Jesus makes disciples as we should also, each seed produces
after its own kind:

I want to concentrate on the power of Jesus in this teaching, although holiness is a must, the focus will
be on the power. I will elaborate further in the writing about who you’ve become after you are filled
with the Holy Spirit. We’ll use the book of Mark, he seemed to enjoy the power.

Mark 1:16 TPT “As Jesus was walking along the shore of the Lake of Galilee, He notices two brothers
fishing; Simon and Andrew. He watched them as they were casting their nets into the sea and said to
them, ‘come follow Me and I will transform you into men who catch people instead of fish.”

Jesus was gathering men to train them in the way a man should live with the Holy Spirit. He could only
show and teach them what the Father had shown Him. So do you think that after Jesus had died and
rose again that His plan would be: I will give the original disciples everything they need BUT, once the
original disciples die off I will take back the power to heal the sick and do miracles? The first thing Jesus
did was to gather men to teach (disciples). Everything that I am about to write, as you see Jesus do it,
you also can do it because he is the life within you. As Jesus sent out the twelve and gave them His
authority you are also sent out with the same authority.

Mark 6:7 TPT “Jesus gathered His twelve disciples and imparted to them His authority to cast out
demons.”

Mark 6:12 TPT “So they went out and preached publicly that everyone should repent. They cast out many
demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.”

These men did not have the Holy Spirit yet but they were given the authority of Jesus as you are also.
This is why sometimes when I get an unbeliever healed I will tell them to pray for their friend and the
unbelieving friend will get healed. They are actually operating under the authority of Jesus in me. That
usually seals the deal and they end up giving their lives to Jesus.

You have the power to Cast Out Demons:

Mark 1:23-25 TPT “Suddenly, during the meeting, a demon possessed man screamed out,’ Hey! Leave us
alone! Jesus the Victorious, I know who You are. You’re God’s Holy One and You have come to destroy
us.’ Jesus rebuked him, saying ‘Silence! You are bound! Come out of him!”

Personal experience: There are multiple expressions of a person with a demon living in them. Let me
share an experience with you. I work with a therapist from time to time and he called me one day and
said he had a patient who had agreed to let me see her. John had tried everything he knew to get her
free and nothing was working so I agreed to see her. When I entered the room a woman in her early
thirties was sitting there quite angry. She suffered with a history of drug, alcohol and sexual abuse. She
also suffered with ADHD and bipolar. I introduced myself and she stated “I don't even know why I
agreed to do this, this is a waste of time.” I said, “God is feeling very generous today and actually wants
to show you His power and His love. Is there anything you want Him to do right now for you?” She said,
“I have a migraine, can he heal that?” I said, “Sure”. I pointed at her head and commanded the migraine
spirit to come out in Jesus's name. I asked her how the pain was and she stated it was gone.

I then asked what she wanted God to heal the most, and she replied my head never stops talking to me,
the voices talk all the time and I would like it to stop. She also stated she had chronic back pain that she
wanted healed. I proceeded to check her legs and one was shorter than the other. I commanded it to
come out and it did. I had her stand and asked permission to put my hand on her back and pray. She had
scoliosis, and as I prayed her spine straightened and the pain left. Holy Spirit spoke and said to blow on
the middle of her back and I did. She was saying “that's impossible”, and I asked what was going on? She
stated, your breath just came out my face. So I lay my hands on her head as I prayed and heard from
Holy Spirit to blow in her ear. I asked if I could do this and she said okay. I blew into her left ear and she
stood frozen for a while. I asked if she was okay and she said they stopped, all the voices have stopped
for the first time ever. It's quiet for the first time ever. I blessed her and left.

Later that evening the therapist called with a testimony. He said after I left the woman had confided
something to him that only a few people knew about. She had been deaf in her right ear for years and
when I blew in her left ear my breath came out the other side and her hearing was restored.

Note: The demons and the devil know who you are and they will do everything they can to make sure
you never find out that you possess God or rather He possesses you. God Almighty is one with you in
this skin covering we call a body Just like Jesus. Jesus was God now he is God in us.

Praise God – looking like Jesus and remembering that you also have the power of Jesus in you to cast
out demons.

You have the Power to Heal the Sick Instantly:

Jesus Heals Many – The same Jesus In You is one With You.

Mark 1:29 TPT “now as soon as they left the meeting, they went straight to Simon and Andrew’s house,
along with Jacob and John. Simon’s mother-in-law was bed ridden, sick with a high fever, so the first
thing they did was to tell Jesus about her. He walked up to her bedside, gently took her hand and raised
her up! Her fever disappeared and she began to serve them. Later in the day after the Sabbath ended at
sunset, the people kept bringing to Jesus all that were sick and tormented by demons until the whole
village was crowded around the house. Jesus instantly healed those who suffered severely from various
diseases and cast out many demons. But He would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew
who He really was.”

Personal experience: Three years ago I was in a very poor Peruvian village at a church service as a guest
speaker. As I sat listening to the pastor the Holy Spirit spoke to me. The enemy was bringing up former
sins and tormenting me. The Holy Spirit asked if I saw a white sheet in front of me. I said yes. He said
that this sheet is how I see my people every day, clean and pure. Then He told me that everyone who
would come for healing tonight will be healed. I felt a surge of power go through me and turned to my
interpreter and asked him to stick out her hands. As I put mine above hers she freaked out and said it
was like powerful magnets pulling at her and all of her fears were leaving. A huge crowd came up for
healing and formed a long line across the room. God healed everyone that was prayed for instantly
through me.

Praise God-looking like Jesus and remembering that you also have the power of Jesus in you to heal the
sick.

You Have Power Over Nature, Jesus Calms the Storm:

Mark 4:39-41 TPT “So they shook Him awake, saying “Teacher, don’t You even care that we are all about
to die!” Fully awake, He rebuked the storm and shouted to the sea, “Hush! Calm Down!” All at once the

wind stopped howling and the water became perfectly calm. Then He turned to His disciples and said to
them, “Why are you so afraid? Haven’t you learned to trust yet?” But they were overwhelmed with fear
and awe and said to one another “Who is this man who has such authority that even the wind and
waves obey Him?”

Personal experience: I have prayed for numerous storms to stop and prayed for rain to stop and it has. I
haven’t dealt with tornados or earthquakes but have seen several storms and storms that were forming
leave. There are many times when they didn’t leave but I am still growing in my identity.

You Have the Power to Raise the Dead:

Mark 5:35 TPT “And before He had finished speaking, people arrived from Jairus’ house and pushed
through the crowd to give Jesus the news: “There’s no need to trouble the Master any longer- your
daughter has died.” But Jesus refused to listen to what they were told and said to the Jewish official,
“Don’t yield to fear, all you need to do is keep on believing.”

Fear will come, tell it to shut up and get out! You’re going for it because you believe in the Power inside
of you and His name is Jesus.

Mark 5:39 TPT “Upon entering the house, Jesus said to them, “Why all the grief and weeping? Don’t you
know the girl is not dead but merely sleeping?” Then everyone began to ridicule and made fun of Him.
But He threw them all outside. There’s no method or theology here like we need to get rid of the
unbelievers before I can do this. “Then He took the child’s father and mother and His disciples and went
into the room where the girl was lying. He tenderly clasped the child’s hand and said to her in Aramaic,
‘Talitha koum,’ which means, ‘little girl, wake up from the sleep of death.’ Instantly the twelve year old
girl sat up to her feet and started walking around the room.”

Personal experience: As a nurse walking in power I have had the opportunity to pray over the dead in
my job. I usually have about twenty minutes alone with the deceased before they come for the body. I
pray in tongues and speak life into the deceased and have yet to see someone raised from the dead in
my job environment.

In another experience. I was at the airport getting ready to board and realized I did not have a boarding
pass. I went to the desk and the attendant reached into her pile and gave me one and it was the last seat
next to the bathroom and we take off. I was exhausted and was seated next to a man who wouldn’t stop

talking. I asked God why I was in this situation, you know how I get when I’m tired. About thirty minutes
later a woman is heading towards the bathroom and collapses. A doctor and the woman's husband are
sitting across from me. The doctor gets up and starts examining her. I look at the husband and tell him I
pray for people and God heals them. I am immediately dismissed as a nut and the woman goes lifeless
and the doctor is yelling for someone to get the AED (automated external defibrillator). I noticed the
woman's leg is right near my seat and grab her leg commanding that she will live and not die. All of a
sudden the woman jerks and starts coughing. The doctor then yells that the woman is okay. I’m not
saying that she was dead but she wasn’t moving and they wanted an AED. You don’t call for a
defibrillator unless you think someone's heart has stopped, just saying. I see it as God's plan that I was
on that plane in the seat I was complaining about and right where I was supposed to be to serve His
purpose.

You have the power to open blind eyes:

Where does Jesus live? In you, so you can also open blind eyes.

Mark 8:22 TPT “When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, begging Him
to touch him and heal him. So Jesus led him, as his sighted guide, outside the village, He placed saliva on
the man’s eyes and covered them with His hands. Then He asked him, “now do you see anything?” “Yes,”
he said, “my sight is coming back! I’m beginning to see people, but they look like trees, walking trees.”
Jesus put His hand over the man’s eyes a second time and made him look up. The man opened his eyes
wide and he could see everything perfectly. His eyesight was completely restored!

I love this passage. I believe God put it in here for all of us that would walk as Jesus walked so we
wouldn’t give up. If God himself prayed twice, as a man with the Holy Spirit, I can surely pray more than
once.

Personal experience: A man asked me to pray for his right eye that he only had fifty percent vision in. I
prayed three times and it was completely healed. I prayed for another man with extremely poor vision
in both eyes and they were instantly healed. I also prayed for a woman with very poor vision one eye
and it was restored.

So now you get the idea. A man with the Holy Spirit, a man without sin, a son of God. Remember, you’re
NOT the Son of God but you are as He is; a Son. His life is now your life on earth. The bible also says just
in case you don’t think His life is yours:

John 14:12-14 TPT “I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows Me in faith, believing in Me,
will do the same mighty miracles that I do – even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my
Father! For I will do whatever you ask Me to do when you use My name. And that is how the Son will
show what the Father is really like and bring glory to Him. Ask Me anything in My name, and I will do it
for you!”

Note: Please meditate on this, not to analyze it, but to let it get into your heart. Can God lie? NO!!!! Let’s
keep it simple and strictly on healing because I can already hear it. He will only do it if it is His will. So
back to simple: Is it God’s will to heal the sick? Yes!! Jesus is showing us His Father's will. You have a
green light and God will show up. But, here is the disclaimer: “You must follow Me in faith believing in
Me.” Then whatever you ask in My name I will do. The faith part is a gift, thank You Father for it.
Believing who you are is a whole other story. Because believing who Jesus is means you believe also who
you are.

Okay, let’s tackle Sin. Why was Jesus born?

God sent His only Son to take away the sins of the world. The prophet Isaiah in the Old Testament
foretold His coming and sacrifice. We see in Isaiah everything Jesus accomplished through His suffering
and death, thus taking a penalty that should have been ours to bear. He paid for our right to be healed
when He set us free from a verdict of guilty by dying as us at Calvary.

Isaiah 53 NASB

“Who has believed our message, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.
He was despised and rejected by mankind, A man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces, he was despised, and we held Him in low esteem.
Surely he took up our pain, And bore our suffering, yet we considered Him punished by God,
Stricken by Him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions,

He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him,
And by His wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to our own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open His mouth; He was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before his shearers is silent, so he did not open His mouth.
By oppression and judgment He was taken away. Yet who of His generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgression of my people he was punished.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death, though he had done no
violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush Him and cause Him to suffer,
And though the Lord makes His life an offering for sin, He will see His offspring and prolong His days,
And the will of the Lord will prosper in His hand. After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be
satisfied; By His knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will give Him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
Because He poured out His life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”

John 3:8 TPT ”The reason he was revealed was to undo and destroy the works of the devil.”

Undo what? The fall, the loss of relationship, he destroyed the power of sin and death. And, to heal the
sick, cast out demons, and reconcile people back to the Father by taking the sins of the world away. Is
that pretty accurate? Simple but accurate.

Jesus died and rose destroying sin in His death and being justified in His resurrection. He paid the
penalty as you and you rose with Him in your baptism. Then why if I have died to sin do I keep on
sinning? There are many scriptures we could tackle. Read and study Romans Chapters 6, 7, and 8. It will
show you that you are now the righteousness of God. It’s how God sees you. Hooray!!! If you’re caught
up in habitual sin let me show you how to get out of it.

It’s going to get brutal here, there are no loopholes. I don’t know about you but I always looked for
loopholes to try to reconcile my constant sin. Just before I cried before the Lord and he showed me why
I kept sinning. Let me try to explain it to you in a simple way.

How can we live in sin, we who have died to it?

So let’s look at a few reasons why we might be in a sin habit that we can’t break out of. I want to explain
some of the most feared scriptures in the bible and they should cause us fear because we are not to sin.

1 John 8 TPT “But the one who indulges in a sinful life is of the Devil, because the Devil has been sinning
from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was revealed was to undo and destroy the works of the
Devil.“

Point one: Where was Christ revealed? Wasn’t it to you when you believed? Yes! Why was He revealed?
To save you from your sins, to translate you from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. To
destroy the works of the devil. Where? In YOU.

1 John 3:9 “Everyone who is truly God's child will refuse to keep sinning because God’s seed remains
within him, and he is unable to continue sinning because he has been fathered by God himself.”

Now I didn’t want to sin anymore, I tried holding my breath, I tried fasting, I tried physical torture, I tried
this and I tried that BUT, when that voice called, it moved my will to act. No matter what I did to try and
not sin, I kept sinning. Through revelation the word came to life. I saw that God had already changed
me, and that I was brand new. I was a NEW creation in Christ. In my Spirit!! My soul: my mind, will and
emotions, never got the memo. And they were still calling the shots.

1 John 8 Still applied, as far as the mind was concerned I was still living in my original fallen state and the
devil was my father and sin is all he knows. Sin habits had dominated my whole life. I kept trying to
change my outward sinful life using tools that were still believing they were under the devil's charge. My
mind wasn’t renewed to who I had now become in the Spirit. I was a brand new baby, born again! I had
to learn how to live from this new identity. I was a son of God, so I had to learn how sons of God do
things, BUT not according to flesh and blood, because I was born of the Spirit.

Point: The way we change in the Kingdom is by faith through Grace. We believe what happened to us is
true, and we declare it – that’s called faith and it brings Grace into the room and that changes us. It
changes who we are. We don’t attack sin. That’s a game of the devil. We are dead to sin and alive to God
in Christ Jesus. We spend time through faith in the presence of God and His word. Let me go back to

1 John 3:4-5 TPT “4: Anyone who indulges in sin lives in moral anarchy, for the definition of sin is
breaking God's law. 5: And you know without a doubt that Jesus was revealed to eradicate sins, and
there is no sin in Him.”

Where are you? In Him? It just said there’s no sin in Him. Are you excited yet? And where is He? In YOU!
So can you still be a sinner? Can God be part of sin? NO!!!!

Here is the key to eradicating sin in your life, the consciousness, the memory, and the unwanted habits.
Anyone who lives in union with Him will not sin.

1 John 3:6 “But the one who continues sinning hasn’t seen Him with discernment or know Him by
intimate experience.”

Discernment – I didn’t understand. “My people perish from lack of knowledge.”

Intimate experience – I didn’t know God as a lover, I wasn’t alone with Him, I couldn’t feel His kisses, His
breath on my neck, His arms wrapped around me, His burning love and desire for me. The God of the
universe, that’s what was missing. Here is your answer. Intimacy and Understanding. You are no longer
who you’ve always been. You are a New Creation in Christ.

Personal testimony: I had no real concept of what happened to me at the new birth. For over 30 years I
suffered with alcoholism, drug addiction (I’ve been clean and sober for a long time now), addiction to
women and pornography. I knew the scriptures somewhat but they always condemned me. And of
course people condemned me, people who knew my behavior. Then in 2013 I went on a missions trip
with a house church I was involved with. I was filled with guilt, shame and condemnation and nobody
knew, I did know how to speak “Christneeze” and I praised the Lord I would get emotional, but in my
heart always feeling “less than” with my secret sin habits. No secret to God though. One day on the trip
a few of the women went to a ministry called Dignity which tries to rescue women who are prostitutes.
They had just returned from the brothels and they had held a bible study there and they were
witnessing about the women. They said the Glory of God on those women was incredible. My Western
Mind went Hookers! God’s glory?? And the Holy Spirit Spoke to me. He said,”do you see, Shawn, it’s
never been about you loving Me, it’s been about my love for you.” I said, “You still love me? “He said,
“I’ve never stopped.” That statement rebirthed something in me. I knew the scriptures that read like I
was condemned, but here’s God himself telling me he loved me. What was I not seeing? What was I
missing? And why did I keep sinning. I now really wanted to know this God, who just said he loved me,
and I wasn’t disqualified, and I was never NOT loved by Him. If you knew my past by human standards,
they would have given me at least a life sentence without parole, you have no clue. Yes, AFTER I became
a Christian, and here God was telling me that He loved me.

Change: I will share my experience with you. I heard a man preaching a message of righteousness. He
said to live from a perspective of seeing yourself right with God and you will live right. Believe that God
loves you and you will be loved. He said don’t base your relationship with God on how you feel. Base it
on what’s been done for you and who you’ve now become BECAUSE OF how God sees you. In other
words, see yourself as God sees you. Righteous. Then act accordingly, as a righteous son of the Most
High God.

So I made a prayer room. A place of intimacy for just God and I and I started to search for knowledge. I
came across this guy healing on the streets and filming it, and then another guy. They were also telling
people that God loved them. They were explaining that we have the power and the life of God in us. In
the secret place we grow in that identity, which is love, and that’s why we can move in the power of God
through loving people. It was all about love. I would go to my prayer room and declare to God all that He
had done for me. All that the blood had paid for and how right I was in His sight, even while still
struggling to renew my mind. I would lapse into pornography, I would immediately confess it and not
look back. I would say “Father you didn’t create me for that and that’s not who I am or who You are in
me.” Then I would immediately start to declare His love for me and my righteousness.

Then the Holy Spirit said to me one day, “you know, you can heal people like these guys, I live in you
too.” I said “okay.” So I went to the neighborhood I lived in most of my teen years before I went to jail. It
was a very rough neighborhood and I parked my car and began to walk, scared to death. The first guy I
came upon was a guy sitting on a bench with another guy I asked if he had pain he said yes in his knee. I
asked can I pray for you? He said sure. He was high also on whatever. I knelt down and put my hand on
his knee and as I looked up He was making vulgar gestures with his hand. I left. The next people that I
encountered were two girls and a guy. Young people, they were also high. I asked if they had any pain
and if I could pray for them and this young guy lifts up his shirt and said “I know what you want baby.”
He freaked me out, I ran. So the devil was trying to get me off the streets, the next person ran from me. I
went back home to my prayer room and just talked to God. I kept watching guys heal on video and
reading and learning and talking to God. I would go down on the streets as much as I could and the
message of righteousness and love started to build in me. Now when I was down on the streets my fear
was being replaced with love for people, with a knowing that God was with me and loved me. I was now
going into alleyways and all kinds of places but still no one was getting healed. My poor wife suffered a
lot during this time, for a period of time she became a widow. I knew nothing of balance.

Then about 2 months later out on the streets I put my hand on a guys back and it was healed. After
praying for maybe a hundred people or so, this guy’s back was healed. I want to interject here I still
struggled with the thought of the old dead man and the sin habits, especially pornography. It had been
in my life since I was 11 years old. I found out that it had very little to do with the women or the acts. It
was my god and I used it to comfort my pains, my fears, and my low esteem. But God in His mercy had
allowed the beauty of His manifest Glory to conflict with sin so much that the pain in my guts that sin
would produce started to keep me from sin. But I had a long way to go. I put this in here to let you know
that you’re not out. God wants to use you. Well no one was seeing the miracles that were happening in
the streets. So now people thought I was crazy. My brother and my mother thought I should be seen by
a doctor. My wife wasn’t seeing it either. One night we were at house church and a woman with a
hunched over back was there and I was telling her some of the miracles I saw and she asked for prayer. I
put my hand on her back and commanded the bones to be straight. Her whole body convulsed which
she never felt or realized it and I heard every bone cracked as she became perfectly straight. I was
freaked out and I looked around to see if anyone had seen it. My wife was looking right at her and she
yells, ”you’re straight, you’re back is straight!” and the woman said ”What?” I said, “You’re straight, go
look.” She couldn’t comprehend it when she came back. She had been that way for years. So now I
wasn’t crazy. I was moving in power. To this day, as people who know me will attest, I can be a mess as a
human being. I’ve been saved since 1981 but only been trying to walk since 2013.

Okay let’s see what we’ve got as son of God. Let’s answer the question, “Is healing and power for
today?”

After Jesus’s resurrection this is His command to His disciples. Simply stated he says, “I want to use you
guys to make other guys just like Me, just like I made you. I have been given everything and I pass it on
to you and all those who will come after you. I have modeled the life of what a son of God should look
like.”

Matthew 28:18-20 TPT Commissioning Matthew “Then Jesus came close to them and said, all the
authority of the universe has been given to me. Now go in my authority and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And teach them to faithfully
follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day even to the
completion of this age.”

Also your job description, another important point: Jesus NEVER leaves.

Mark 16:15-16 TPT “and He said to them, as you go into all the world, preach openly the wonderful news
of the gospel to the entire human race! Whoever believes the good news and is baptized will be saved,
and whoever does not believe the good news will be condemned.”

Jesus made it pretty plain here. And what are the signs that those who believe the good news will
produce?

Mark 16:17-18 TPT “And these miracle signs will accompany those who believe: They will drive out
demons in the power of my name. They will speak in tongues. They will be supernaturally protected from
snakes and from drinking anything poisonous. And they will be laid hands on the sick and heal them.”

Another job description.

Luke 24:44-49 TPT “He supernaturally unlocked their understanding to receive the revelation of the
scriptures, then said to them, everything that has happened fulfills what was prophesied of Me. Christ,
The Messiah, was destined to suffer and rise from the dead on the third day. Now you must go into all
the nations and preach repentance and forgiveness of sins so that they will turn to Me. Start right here in
Jerusalem. For you are my witnesses and have seen for yourselves all that has transpired. And I will send
the fulfillment of the Father's promise to you. So stay here in the city until the mighty power of heaven
falls upon you and wraps around you.”

Myth buster: All of this stopped when the apostles died:

John 17:22-23 TPT “And I ask not only these disciples, but also for all those who will one day believe in
me through their message. I pray for them all to be joined together as one even as you and I, Father are
joined together as one, I pray for them to become one with us so that the word will recognize that you
sent me. For the very glory you have given to me I have given them, so that they will be joined together
as one and experience the same unity that we enjoy. You live fully in Me and now I live fully in them so
that they will experience perfect unity, and the world will be convinced that you have sent Me, for they
will see that you love each one of them with the same passionate love that you have for Me.”

I don’t see Jesus looking for “two”, only one and the Father loving you as he loved Jesus. Come on, drop
the lie, you are one and loved.

TPT footnote by Author verse 17:22 “It’s important to note that the key to unity among believers is
experiencing the Glory of God that Jesus has imparted to us. As one with God through faith in Christ, He
shares His Glory with us, since we are not ‘another’ but have been made One with the Triune God
through the blood of Jesus.“

Isiah 42:8 NASB “I am the Lord, that is my name, I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to
graven images.” (WOW)

Pentecost and Power and Future Disciples:

Acts 1:4 TPT “Jesus instructed them, ‘Don’t leave Jerusalem, but wait until you receive the gift I told you
about, the gift the Father promised. For John baptized you with water, but in a few days from now you
will be baptized in the Holy Spirit. But I promise you this: the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will
be filled with power. And you will be My messengers to Jerusalem, throughout Judea, the distant
provinces even to the remotest places on earth.’”

Note: There were many places on earth the Apostles didn’t visit but still the message of Jesus would be
carried, long after their deaths, to the rest of the Word in the same way with power. Jesus is the same
yesterday, today and forever!

Acts 2:17 TPT “This is what I will do in the last days – I will pour out My Spirit on everybody and cause
your sons and daughters to prophesy and your young men will see visions and your old men will
experience dreams from God. The Holy Spirit will come upon all My servants, men and women alike, and
they will prophesy. I will reveal startling signs and wonders in the sky above and mighty miracles on the
earth below. Blood and fire and pillars of clouds will appear. For the sun will be turned dark and the
moon blood-red before the great and awesome appearance of the Day of the Lord. But everyone who
calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Acts 3:4-6 TPT “Peter and John looking straight into the eyes of the crippled man, said, ‘Look at us!’
Expecting a gift, he readily gave them his attention. Then Peter said, ‘I don’t have money but I’ll give you
this – by the power of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk.’”

Note: Peter knew what belief in the Name of Jesus brought. It brought all of us authority and power
through the working of the Holy Spirit that the Father wants every believer to have. He promised it and
is glad to give it. God living in YOU. There is nothing impossible for YOU.

Second generation disciples and so on includes you.

Some people think the Power to heal ended with the death of the Apostles. Note that Paul was not an
original Apostle but an even better example is Stephen.

Acts 6:3 [All second generation or disciples made by the preaching of the Apostles.] “We want you to
carefully select from among yourselves seven godly men. Make sure they are honorable, full of the Holy
Spirit and wisdom and we will give them responsibility of this crucial ministry of serving.” (Waiting tables)

Acts 6:8 “Stephen who was a man full of grace and supernatural power, performed many astonishing
signs and wonders and mighty miracles among the people.”

In a jail cell, in 1981, I read a book called Prison to Praise and before I was halfway through with it the
Holy Spirit fell on me and I was screaming through the jail, “He’s Alive, He’s Alive, it’s all real!” and I
started speaking in tongues. My body was on fire. I was brand new in an instant and God’s love was
what I searched for my entire life. Miracles shortly followed and I remember my spiritual father at the
time came to visit me the first Christmas I ever knew. He said “Some people can fall away”, I remember
saying “Who could ever walk away from all this love, this wonderful God?” Well, it happened. All it took
was pride with the incredible conversion and miracles and people telling me that I was somebody. Also,
never seeking the Lord, like I did in my jail cell. In short the devil danced me for over 30 years because I
had never renewed my mind or cultivated a personal relationship with God. But God never changes, He
held to His end of the relationship. He wasn’t surprised and His love for me didn’t change.

So if someone is telling you it’s too late, that you’ve committed too many sins, believe me brother that is
NOT God’s voice. He is for you and wants to take you out of your sin habits and love on you constantly.
He still has a plan for your life. He is not surprised that it has taken as long as it has for you to wake up.
Praise God!

Hopefully, by sharing these gospel passages and how I got started and some of the other things I wrote,
they will help you to get started in a loving, intimate relationship with God, your Father.

Remember this, fear will be your biggest obstacle. What others think about you and your own negative
thoughts.

Remember, this is God’s only thought about you: “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.”

Mark 4:24 TPT “Then be diligent to understand behind everything you hear, for as you do, more
understanding will be given to you. And according to the depth of your longing to understand, much
more will be added to you. For those who listen with open hearts will receive more revelation. But those
who don’t listen with open hearts will lose the little they think they have.”

Let me translate. Go after God with such a zeal that He consumes all of your time and every spare
moment. Throw out all your preconceived notions and everything that you think you know about
sonship if your life isn't producing the power of God and be taught again in the Secret Place with the
Holy Spirit. He will produce Jesus to the world. That has been my experience.
