RECOMMENDATION LETTER FOR DOREEN CHIPATA

It is with great pleasure to be recommending my former student Doreen Chipata. In the

graduating class of 2020, Doreen was in the top 10% of the BCom Marketing and
Business Management class .

Leadership
Doreen has proved herself to be a team player with a great degree of positive influence
on her colleagues at Damelin Menlyn Campus. She worked hard for the establishment
of the Campus Community Initiative in 2019 that worked with the less privileged
members of the society. This Community Initiative would go around cleaning
orphanages and feeding homeless people in Pretoria East. All these activities were
carried out through the influence of Doreen who was instrumental in organizing and
encouraging the participation of other students.

Reconciliation
Doreen is a person who is able to interact with people from different backgrounds and
ethnicity. Our Campus is a melting pot of people from different countries and cultures.
Doreen was able to work well with these people both on the academic front and non-
academic front. She demonstrated great emotional intelligence that enabled her to be
empathetic to other. An ever jovial young girl with her motto being “imagine yourself in
her shoes…”. She always placed the interest of others before her own interest.

Education
Doreen though an average student she is a diligent young girl who go beyond the limits
to fulfill the needs that are placed on her in her academic pursuit. Her final year results
are a testament of the hard work she was putting in her work. This academic prowess is
jelled with excellent character, respect and love. As a student Doreen always went
beyond the requirements to ensure that the work is done and in all cases beyond the
expectation.

Entrepreneurship
Doreen carries the burden of the others. She is concerned about the problems that
confront her generation. A typical example is her founding a community organization
that worked with orphans and under privileged people. She has displayed an astute
entrepreneurial character in everything that she undertakes. I belief that she has a flame
that require more fuel for her to flourish more in the future.
