Title - Report of five days training on play school
Venue - sonamgang middle secondary School(chukha,bhutan)
Duration - 1st - 5th January,2023

Purpose - to upgrade our professionalism, for the beneficial our future leaders
and for the development of education system.

The workshop was conducted by four pre - school teacher who had undergone training
conducted by Dessung office on DSP play school at paro.
The workshop began with a briefing by principles and after that we played a game
called fire on the mountain where we have to name ourself and know the nick name of
our friend. We were taught about the importance of reciting zhabtoen. We did mind
training through music and sang new good morning song called Mr.rooster.
The first presenter was Mr.sonam Jamtsho.
He divided us into six group and told us to name our group. we were asked to
discuss on "what is play and why is it important", and later presented by each from
the group. we discussed about NLP(Neuro Linguistic programming) where it refers
to mindset, communication and behavior . We were taught about thought model
(circumstances trigger, thought produce, feeling generate,action
cause ,result )with many examples and taught about how negative brain could
overtake the positive brain.
Mr .Yeshey lhagyel briefed about six play based learning with examples
1)physical play - hopping through hola hoop
2)Art play - boring bubbles and hand print activities. 3) Music play - dancing in
our own way 4)sensory play - feeling the toy, smell and taste fruits. 5)dramatic
play - pretend play on different story. 6)nature play - making friendship band from
nature.

Followed by that Mr.Yeshey Nidup and Mrs. Sonam Choden presented about play school
2.O. There were three type of play school. 1)experimential learning - learning by
doing
2) progressive learning - performing task,learning by doing and child centered
3) classroom management
We were taught about the founder of progressive learning( John Dewey) who was born
in 20th October,1859. We talked about principles, key features and characteristics
of progressive learning followed by questions. Mrs.sonam Choden taught us about
class room management and five principles (foster relationship,engaged learning,
quit ones, misbehaviour and rules). There was three steps to increase level of
engaged learning and learned about how to build foster relationship with students.
We were briefed about forest school and montesorrie. Montessori was founded by
maria Montessori.

Last day we learned about MI(multiple intelligence) which means to invest something
new, problem solving and critical thinking. MI was founded by Haward Gardener in
1983. The purpose of MI was to expand, to identify, to inspire, the development of
other individuals and to embrace. There are eight types of MI.They are 1)Musical-
music smart 2)bodily kinesthetic -body smart 3) interpersonal - people smart
4)verbal linguistic - word smart 5)logical - logic smart 6) naturalistic -nature
smart 7)intrapersonal - self smart 8) visual - picture smart

From this workshop progressive learning was the first thing that I LL keep in
mind. I LL ask them many questions ,let them think rather that relying on rote
memorization. I LL respect intellectual capacity of my students and use different
MI for them. I ll implement or use thought model while teaching my children. Forest
school was such an interesting idea so ,I am surely going to implement.
