BACKGROUND OF COMPANY/ORGANIZATION

2.1 INTRODUCTION
Give brief and concise description of the company/organization in which student is undertaking
the industrial training. This main items include;

2.2 HISTORY
SQI College of ICT is a tertiary institution that was established in 2005 in Ogbomoso, Oyo State,
Nigeria. The college was founded by Dr. Saka Olawale and Mrs. Olawale Adebimpe, who are
both passionate about using education to empower young people and create opportunities for
their future.

The founders established the college with the vision of providing quality education in the field of
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to Nigerian youths, who would go on to
become experts and leaders in the industry. Their mission was to create a conducive learning
environment that would foster intellectual growth, creativity, and innovation among the students.

Since its establishment, SQI College of ICT has grown to become a reputable institution in
Nigeria, with a focus on providing practical and industry-focused education to its students. The
college is affiliated with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and is accredited by the National
Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

Over the years, SQI College of ICT has produced many graduates who have gone on to become
successful professionals in various fields of ICT, including software development, network
administration, and cyber security. The institution has also received recognition for its
contributions to the development of the ICT industry in Nigeria, and has won several awards and
honors.

2.3 STRUCTURE OF THE ORGANIZATION
The structure of SQI College of ICT is designed to ensure efficient and effective management of
the institution's affairs, and to provide a conducive learning environment for its students. The
following is an overview of the structure of the organization:

Management: The management of SQI College of ICT is headed by the Provost, who is
responsible for the overall management and administration of the institution. The Provost is
assisted by a team of experienced administrators and academic staff, who oversee various aspects
of the institution's operations, including finance, student affairs, academic affairs, and research.

Faculties: SQI College of ICT has two faculties, the Faculty of Information Technology and the
Faculty of Management Sciences. The faculties are headed by Deans, who oversee the academic
affairs of the faculties and ensure that they are in compliance with the policies and guidelines of
the institution.

Departments: The two faculties are further divided into several departments, which are
responsible for the delivery of specific courses and programs.The departments are headed by
Heads of Departments, who are responsible for the day-to-day management of the departments
and ensure that they operate in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the institution.

Administrative Units: SQI College of ICT has several administrative units, including the
Registry, Bursary, Library, ICT Center, and Physical Planning Unit. These units are responsible
for providing support services to the institution and ensuring that its operations run smoothly.

Students: The students are at the center of the institution's structure, and the institution is
committed to providing a conducive learning environment that meets their academic and social
needs. The students are represented by a Student Union Government, which is responsible for
promoting their welfare and interests within the institution.
