INSTALLATION AND OPERATING PROCEDURE

1. REQUIRED PC CONFIGURATIONS:

1.1 WINDOWS 7 PLATFORM:

1 System Type X86 or X64 Bit Operating System


2 Processor 1 GHz or above
3 Installed Memory (RAM) 1 GB or above

4 Disk Space 1 GB of minimum free disk space

5 USB Ports 2 numbers of USB 2.0 or 3.1 Ports


6 Internet Connection 70 Mbps speed mandatory

1.2 WINDOWS 10 PLATFORM:

NOTE:
1. RENAULT always recommended to use with the recent version of operating system to avoid
the issues in platform services / supports.
2. It is necessary to meet the hardware requirements specific to EURO5 applications, that is to
say at least 2 free USB ports (one for the vehicle interface probe, one for the security token
card).
3. The CAN Gateway Opening and Re-Programming modules does not require as much disk
space. But this study anticipates the needs of the configuration module as well as the
constant increase in data volume.

2. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

2.1 Run the setup file: “setup-E5_CGW_8.199.2.0_RC1”

2.2 Select Setup Language from the drop-down menu.

2.3 The installation wizard will open and click on “Next”

2.4 License agreement wizard will provide all the copy right information about CAN Gateway
module. Read the agreement carefully and select the option “I accept the agreement”
option if you are agreeing and continue to install the software. And then click in “Next”
button.

2.5 Setup will extract and install the software into your computer.

2.6 Then click on “Finish” button to complete the installation.

3. CAN GATEWAY OPENING MODULE - OPERATING PROCEDURE:

3.1 Pre-Requisites for CAN Gateway Opening Module operation


i) Put the vehicle under forced + after ignition feed. Vehicle should not go
to power latch mode. If there’s a card key, you should enter that in to the
card slot.
ii) Ensure the Vehicle Interface’s connectivity with vehicle’s OBD socket
and PC’s USB port. Both should be connected in wired USB probe.
iii) Ensure the Internet Connectivity with minimum of 70Mbps speed.
iv) Renault e-Token Card must be inserted into PC’s USB port.

3.2 Double click on the “Renault gateway unlocking module” icon in your desktop.

3.3 The RENAULT GATEWAY UNLOCKING MODULE – 8.199.2 will open


with simple and efficient user interface.

3.4 Click on the “Unlock the gateway” button.

3.5 The module will process the operation.

3.6 Once the connection established with ECU, it will prompt you for e-Token
authentication. Enter your e-Token password.

3.7 Again, the module will be processing your request for unlocking gateway.

3.8 After all the above-mentioned operations carried out, you will get “Gateway
opening OK” message and your vehicle’s gateway will be opened for your
operation.

3.9 Leave the ignition remain on condition and exit the application by clicking “Quit
the application button”.

3.10 If something went wrong, you will get “Operation failed. Please try again”
message. If you got this message, check everything from initial step and then try
the same operation again.

3.11 If your vehicle is not equipped with CAN Gateway ECU, it will display the
message as “The vehicle is not equipped with a gateway”. Then you can
proceed with your conventional operations with this vehicle.
