Why am I doing this assessment?
To demonstrate that you will:
• Understand forms of communication used within engineering.

How do I Pass?
Within the allocated guided learning hours for the unit you must correctly complete Practical
Assessment ET2-002B.

You will be assessed on your ability to translate a sketch into a detailed drawing in three views.

You must:
• Draw an orthographic drawing
• From the sketch provided, produce a detailed engineering drawing in third or first angle projection
• Create a border and title block around views, including component description, part number,
material, name of learner, date and chosen angle of projection.

What do I need?
You will need:
• Drawing equipment
• Sketch of a suitable engineering component
• Assessment ET2-002B specification.
• Access to any relevant support/reference material (this could include notes).

How do I make a start?


You should:
• Have been given appropriate learning before you attempt the practical assessment
• Be briefed on what is involved and expected of you
• Be fully prepared for the assessment

Whilst carrying out the practical assessment you must follow all health and safety procedures.
