JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: COVID-19 Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Administration

SUPERVISORY CONTROL: President

SALARY: Grade 14

SUMMARY:

The COVID-19 Coordinator collaborates with all College employees to design and develop all COVID-
19 activities, tracking and reporting. This position's overarching goal is to guide efforts to align COVID-
19 funding sources with operational needs that address short-term impacts while preparing for long-term
change.

This position is funded until September 2022 through COVID-19 emergency funding, continued
employment is contingent upon availability of funds and success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.


• Six months to two years related experience including; reporting to federal and state agencies,
planning and project management.
• Proficiency of Microsoft office applications including word processing, email, database,
web/Internet, and spreadsheets is required.
• Ability to represent the college in a professional manner.
• Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., and ability to bend and ability to stand for long periods
of time.
• Minimum standards of character: Must not have been found guilty of, or entered a plea of nolo
contendere or guilty to, any felonious offense or 2 or more misdemeanor offenses involving
(under federal, state or tribal law; violations from other states will be interpreted according to
the Michigan Penal Code):

Crimes of violence Sexual assault


Molestation Exploitation
Contact with or prostitution Crimes against persons
Offenses committed against children Child abuse or neglect
RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Lead or assist with programs or projects that align with campus COVID-19 initiatives.
• Provide biweekly updates to President
• Lead COVID-19 work team
• Work closely with the Accounting Office and Sponsored Programs Office to complete reports
and updates
• Advise and provide commentary to students on papers in progress, if requested.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Must maintain a professional, acceptable appearance and demeanor. Must be friendly,
courteous and able to work well with people, including fellow staff members.

DUTIES:

• Participate in conference calls with all funding sources managing allowable expenses and
reporting.
• Identify potential projects to be used to deliver services to students, staff and faculty affected by
COVID- 19.
• Analyzes needs to determine effective solutions that address COVID-19 impact on students,
staff and faculty.
• Interact with students, staff and faculty in order to understand concerns related to COVID-19.
• Communicate with students, staff and faculty regarding questions or concerns related to
COVID-19.
• Implement approved projects from beginning to end.
• Research the supplies and equipment for purchase that are related to COVID-19.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT TESTS:
Employment is contingent upon the satisfactory result of a Security Background Check, pre-
employment drug testing and pre-employment physical.

INDIAN PREFERENCE:
Preference is given to qualified individuals of American Indian descent.

VETERAN PREFERENCE:
Preference is given to qualified veterans (need DD214).
