SLUGGISH STRUGGLE TO GOOD GOVERNANCE

The article was written by a reporter, Kyle Aristophere T. Atienza, claims that “the next president

needs to immediately restore public trust in the government, strengthen democratic rule, and pursue major
economic and political reforms.”

● “A strategic Philippine foreign policy must consider economic diplomacy as one of the means to
harness the contribution of both state and non-state actors in national development and
international diplomacy,” Mr. Manhit said in a Messenger chat.

● “We should enhance security partnerships with countries that share our democratic values and
leverage on existing and newly formed multilateral organizations that are committed to maintain
the rules-based international system.”

● “The next administration should also lay the foundations for long-term reforms while addressing
urgent concerns,” Michael Henry Ll. Yusingco, a research fellow at the Ateneo de Manila
University, said.

Although we stand with their comments/complaints regarding the reform of government policy,

We think they are already expecting too much from the president and yet there are so much ground to cover
and too many problems left by the previous president to be fixed.

The issue is that the Philippine economy was in a very bad situation (it still is), having accumulated

economic and political reforms." I contend that the current president, B.M., has implemented, or has
partially implemented, a slew of new policies and reforms that are now assisting the PH economy in its
recovery. I predict that if the economy continues to develop at this rate, it will rank among the best GDP in
Asia, the Philippines. Among the multiple obstacles thrown at the Philippines at the moment, there are also
the aftermath of the Pandemic. President Duterte and the government have mismanaged the pandemic
which became a gigantic economic conflict. The budget towards our agriculture has been redirected to
health funds in an effort to contain the outbreaks and left our agriculture on a steep decline.

I use that as evidence since it has excellent credibility, the endorsement of many trustworthy

professionals, and it is an article that has been verified. We anticipate that there must be a focus on
agriculture and tourism to revive our economic state and revise any unfriendly laws towards foreign
investors. To finish we can not push an economic change solely through expectations, and pivot
towards agricultural development.
