Divisor Divisibility Rule

2 A number is divisible by 2 if its last digit is even (0, 2, 4, 6, or 8).

3 A number is divisible by 3 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 3.

4 A number is divisible by 4 if the number formed by its last two digits is divisible by 4.

5 A number is divisible by 5 if its last digit is either 0 or 5.

6 A number is divisible by 6 if it is divisible by both 2 and 3.


9 A number is divisible by 9 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 9.

10 A number is divisible by 10 if its last digit is 0.

A number is divisible by 11 if the difference between the sum of its digits at odd positions and the sum

of its digits at even positions is divisible by 11.

12 A number is divisible by 12 if it is divisible by both 3 and 4.


25 A number is divisible by 25 if its last two digits are 00,25,50 or 75.
Example

246 (last digit is 6)

732 (7 + 3 + 2 = 12)

968 (last two digits form 68, which is divisible by 4)

1,350 (last digit is 0)

84 (divisible by 2 and 3)
1,458 (1 + 4 + 5 + 8 = 18, which is divisible by 9)

2,450 (last digit is 0)

1,617 (1 + 7 - 6 = 2, which is divisible by 11)

936 (divisible by 3 and 4)


2,500 (last two digits are 00)
