DIALOGUE 1

Guide: Now we’re in front of Fatahillah Museum. The official name for this museum is Jakarta
History Museum, but people are more familiar with the name of Fatahillah Museum. Some
called it Batavia Museum. 

Tourist: This is such a lovely and classic museum, Sir! By the way, what neighboorhood are we
in? This area seems special.

Guide: This is called Old Town or Kota Tua, Ma’am. There are many historical buildings around
here, and those make this area special. 

Tourist: I see. Can you tell me more about this museum? 

Guide: This museum was built in 1710 as city hall of Batavia, the name of Jakarta during
colonization period. Back then, the city hall was called Stadhuis. 

Tourist: Wow, it has been around for such a long time! 

Guide: That’s right, Ma’am. This museum has been through many historical events since it was
built by VOC, Ductch colonization, until Indonesia’s independence. In 1974, it officially become
the museum. 

Tourist: Can we take a look inside, Sir? 

Guide: Of course, Ma’am. Let’s go inside. 

DIALOGUE 2

Hotel: Welcome to ABC Hotel. How may I help you? 

Guest: Hello.. I’d like a room for three nights, please? 

Hotel: Sure. We have three types of room, single, twin and double room. 

Guest: Single room please. 

Hotel: Single room for three nights, will cost you $300. And we require $50 security deposit, it
will be refunded when you check out.

Guest: Great. (OK)

Hotel: Can I have your ID? 

Guest: Here you are.

Hotel: Thank you Mr. John. Your total is $350. How would you like to pay? 

Guest: I’d pay with cash. Here it is. 


Hotel: Here is your key card Mr. John. Your room number is 303. It’s on the third floor. You will
find the lift at the end of passageway. (Ini kuncinya Pak John. Kamarnya nomor 303. Di lantai
tiga. Liftnya ada di ujung lorong ini.)

Guest: Thank you very much. (Terima kasih banyak)
