Art Show
The Art Show will take place between the 4th and 6th October in the hall. Come along from 4.00 oclock and have a look at the wonderful artwork that will be on display.

Positive Parenting Mums and Dads wanted for a brief positive parenting programme
The Triple P Research Group at the University of Auckland is seeking families with a 5- to 8-year-old child to participate in a research project. Participation will include attendance at parenting groups that teach about positive parenting and discipline strategies to constructively manage their childs behaviour, free of charge. We are looking for parents to participate in the project who: have a child between the ages of 5 and 8 who is showing some difficulties with his or her behaviour and are interested in attending a brief discussion group based parenting programme. Duffy Role Model Assembly


COMMUNITY ASSEMBLY Thursday 29th September at 1.30pm. Alison Quigan an actor, writer and producer who is best known for her role as Yvonne Jeffries, mother of Maia, Libby and Tanya in Shortland Street will be at the assembly to talk to the students and present the Duffy books. Parents/caregivers are invited to attend the assembly.

Magical Maths Evening


Parents/caregivers are invited to a fun evening on ways to help children with maths. Maths facilitator Helen Walters will teach easy activities to do at home. Rugby World Cup


Sponsorship Forms! All World Cup-a-thon money is be returned by 23rd September. So far approximately $3,000 has been brought in.

PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR STUDENTS IN THE CARPARK. WE WOULD RATHER PARENTS DO NOT DRIVE INTO THE CARPARK.

Mobile Ear Clinic


The Mobile Ear Clinic will be at school on the following days Thursday the 29th September and Tuesday the 4th October.

Walter Dixon Rugby


Youngblood Doyle and Steven Marsters, played for the Walter Dixon Representative Rugby Team for Remuera in the last school holidays. They won the tournament and won best attacking team (most tries and no points conceded). They played 5 games over the tournament. Youngblood has been selected to the next rep level Roller Mills in Thames during the next holidays.

Raffle Fundraising
A reminder there is a raffle for sale in the office. One ticket $2 three tickets $5. The raffle will be drawn on 23rd September. First prize: Rugby World Cup / Toshiba collectors ruck sack, drink bottle and first aid kit. Second prize: 2011 Rugby World Cup cufflinks and a flash gym towel.

Photolife Studios
Individual photos will be taken on the 27th October. Pre paid envelopes are coming home so as you can get organised and pay in advance. If the envelope is not returned to school your child/rens photos will not be taken. This is done outside of the school, so there is no facility to pay by eft pos at the school. It is either cash, cheque or credit card details. The office often does not have enough change to be able to change for smaller, so please the correct amount would be appreciated.

Learning Languages Survey


Year 7 & 8 students are taught a international language. Year 6 & 7 parents/caregivers were surveyed to see which of the ten ministry supported international languages they would like their child/ren to learn. 56% of parents / caregivers returned the survey. Thank you for an outstanding return. Below is a list of the votes for 1st choice languages.
