PRESENTATION
Today we wil be discussing about Greatest Common Monomial Factor:
Now our objectives are:
a. Activity
x a z 10 y
2
6 b 4 3
Number/Expression Students:
a. Define the common monomial factor of a
1. 8 _________________ polynomial
2. 2x _________________
b. solve the factors of polynomials completely
3. 5ab _________________
and accurately using the greatest common
4. 12z _________________
5. 20xy _________________ monomial factor (GCMF)
c. Appreciate the values of factoring using the
common monomial factor in a real-life
situation
Now, I want you to fully understand our topic through this illustration.
Consider a rectangle below
L= x + 3
W= 2
The area of the rectangle is the product of the length and the width or A (Students do what is instructed)
rectangle =L x width
Based on the example above, you have noticed that the method
of factoring used in finding a number or expression that is common to
all terms. In the original expression, that is, 2 is a common factor both
2x + 6. Since there is no other factor, other than 1, which is common to
all terms in the given expression, 2 is called the greatest common
monomial factor (GCMF).
Solution:
a. 4x3 and 8x2
4x3 = 2 · 2 · x · x · x
8x2 = 2 · 2 · 2 · x · x Step 2. Identify the common factors
4x3 = 2 · 2 · x · x · x
8x2 = 2 · 2 · 2 · x · x
Step 2.b Determine the GCF of the variables. The GCF of the variable

1.What is a factor?
2. What is Greatest Common Monomial Factor?
3. What are the steps of obtaining a Greatest Common
Monomial Factor?
4. how to solve the Greatest Common Monomial Factor?
5. How are you going to relate the topic to our real-life
situations?

IV. EVALUATION
V. REFLECTION
* The expected learning outcomes from the lesson were attained. Almost all the students participated enthusiastically
during the lesson proper and activities.
* Students are learning from the topic evidently based on their formative assessments result.
* The teaching strategy used clearly provides the class with structured tasks involving most elements of cooperative
learning.
VI. ASSIGNMENT
Reflect on the activities you have done in this lesson by completing the following statements. Write your
answers on your journal notebook
