To Whom It May Concern:

It is a privilege and an honor to write this letter of recommendation for Cara Engstrom. I have had the
privilege of working with Cara during her educational journey with the University of Arizona College of
Nursing. I was her clinical instructor during her OB Clinical at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. She
displayed tremendous effort and determination during clinical rotation and in her academic understanding
of obstetrical content. She was one of the top students that I had the pleasure to work with during her
Level 2 fall rotation.

Cara demonstrated perseverance, will power, and a passion for nursing during our obstetrical rotation.
She actively participated in a three-day clinical within the Women and Infant’s area of Mercy Gilbert
Medical Center. During this rotation, she had the opportunity to interact and provide care to a variety of
patients. Cara was extremely interactive during patient care, with faculty interactions, and maintained a
professional demeanor with nursing staff to provide patient centered care. She demonstrated exemplary
nursing skills, a positive drive to learn more, and achieved proficiency in safe patient care. In addition,
Cara sought information and education on new integrative health concepts specific to neonatal abstinence
conditions that could have a positive impact on patient care. Cara has a commitment to hard work and
ethics, that sets her apart from others.

Cara is actively involved in various activities in the University of Arizona and healthcare community. She
is actively a peer mentor for other nursing students, a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, as well as certified
member of Wildcat-Way (aims to end rape culture within the University of Arizona Campus). These
activities required Cara to maintain a high academic standard in addition to the requirements of the
organizations. Additionally, Cara graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mel and Enid Zuckerman College
of Public Health with a bachelor’s degree in Public Health. This educational provided Cara with a strong
understanding of healthcare systems theory and practices. In addition, Cara has establish a strong
connection with patients and families through her volunteer services with Banner and Phoenix Children’s
Hospitals. These various roles have increased her ability establish professional communication skills and
have a positive impact in the healthcare community.

Cara can be described in three words: strong, determined, and caring. She is bright, articulate, and has an
outstanding personality. She is well-prepared for her nursing career and would be an asset in the
healthcare industry. Her hard work and dedication to her studies, community improvement, and nursing
clinicals has paid off. She truly is an inspiring young woman.

Sincerely,
