The bar chart depicts the proportion of adults who were

overweight between 1965 and 2015, while the pie chart depicts
the proportion of individuals who were categorized by weight in
2015.

This period we witnessed an increase in the number of obese

individuals. In addition, they comprised over 70% of the
population in 2015.

From 1965 to 1985, the increase in overweight individuals was

incremental. The first significant increase occurred between 1985
and 1995 when the percentage rose from approximately 48% to
nearly 60%. In the subsequent decade, there was a similar
substantial increase. By 2005, about 70% of the population was
overweight. In the 21st century, the upward trend persisted,
though at a slightly slower rate.

The pie chart verifies that in 2015, over 70% of adults were
overweight and provides additional information regarding their
weight. Only 6.3% of individuals were so obese that their health
was in grave danger, that is, they were severely obese. The
remaining individuals were distributed roughly equally among
the remaining categories.
