POINT CALL CHECK.
In certain conditions the session host might choose to enforce the point call check procedure.
This procedure entails a standardized way to communicate instructions across to operators with
minimization of operator error risk. The procedure goes as follows: The shift supervisor asks an
operator to perform a certain manipulation, the respective operator reads back the instruction exactly
as the shift supervisor has requested it also clearly stating that the operator understands the action
he needs to perform, if the readback is correct and the shift supervisor is satisfied the operator
understands what action he is expected to perform he will call out: Check, this is the signal to the
operator he has correctly understood and read back the action he is to perform and gives him the
permission to execute it. An example of this procedure will be stated below for better understanding.

• [OPERATOR NAME] [please perform/Please] [State action]

• [OPERATOR STATES PANEL] preform [State action]
• [If readback was correct] Check
• Operator performs action

• Tony, please establish condenser vacuum using SJAE #1

• Tony: Establish condenser vacuum using SJAE #1
• Check.
• Tony establishes condenser vacuum using SJAE #1
• Upon completion: Tony: Condenser vacuum established using SJAE #1

➢ Establish condenser vacuum of 40 mBar
13 Condenser circulation control valve auto ctrl → On
➢ The condenser circulation flow will now regulate the condenser
pressure.
14 Deaerator outlet valve → 50%
15 Establish Deaerator pressure using the inlet control valve

➢ IPR range → 1
➢ IPR indication → lower red band
➢ SRM probe depth < 10%
➢ Core temperature balancing selector → Average
➢ Operation selector → SRM
➢ Mode selector → Start
2 Control rod speed selector → Fast
3 Withdraw control rods according to pull order.
CAUTION: when pulling maintain period longer then 30s.
at 30s a short period alarm will sound followed by a short period trip at 20s
4 Maintain SRM probe depth slightly above average rod position
5 When period shortening becomes faster and period lengthening becomes
slower: Rod speed → Decrease
6 When IRM indication above red band:
Operation selector → IRM
7 Observe IRM indication:
when reading approaches blue band → Scale up
8 When ARPM reading 10%:
Auto control setp. → 10%
Reactor mode → Run
Auto control → On
9 Check system steam, feedwater and condensate system pressures and flows
Observe Deaerator RPV and hot well level still in range and stable.

5
TURBINE RUNUP
1 Slowly build pressure to 7,2 MPa using the turbine bypass valve
2 If at any point during the procedure pressure is unable to be held slowly
increase APR setpoint
CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED 20% APR DURING RUNUP
3 Heat the turbine casing to 270°C with a max heating rate of 50 °C/s
4 Turning gear → Off
When the turbine has stopped: Turning gear → Disengage
5 Turbine valve → Open
Runup rate selector → Slow
Runup speed selector → 900 rev.min-1
Runup controller → On
Wait for turbine to reach 900 rev.min-1
Monitor Axial and radial pressure, diff expansion and turbine vibration at all
times during runup
6 Runup speed selector → 1800 rev.min-1
Wait for turbine to reach 1800 rev.min-1
7 Turbine LO pump selector → SHAFT

Turbine runup speed selector → 2700 rev.min-1
8 Wait for turbine speed to reach 2700 rev.min-1
9 Runup speed selector → 3600 rev.min-1
Wait for turbine to reach 3600 rev.min-1
SYNCHRONIZATION
1 Check turbine RPM 3600 rev.min-1
Turbine runup controller → Disable

2 Control turbine RPM at 3600 rev.min-1 using precision valve set
3 When synchroscope turning slowly clockwise: close synchronization switch
at needle pos 12 o’clock
4 When breaker has been closed → APR setpoint 30%
Slowly close the bypass valve while opening the main valve until the
bypass valve is fully closed.
MAINTAIN 7,2 MPa main steam pressure at all times.
5 When bypass valve is fully closed → Auto pressure hold → On

6
LOAD FOLLOWING
1 Slowly increase APR setpoint in intervals of 10%

DURING POWER RAMP UP CLOSELY MONITOR PLANT PARAMETERS.

if a parameter starts to become uncontrollable give voice command:
