Social media trend have positive correlation to the self-esteem of Grade 12 students. Review of Related Literatures and Studies Related Literature * Social media is an online directory that allows people to find their friends, family and colleagues, and allows users to express their opinions. It also plays a role on how individuals present themselves and build trust with others. * Social media can have both positive and negative effects on students’ academic performance. It can be used to create study groups and share assignments, but it also has drawbacks such as procrastination and lack of motivation. Related Studies The results of a survey showed that 50% of respondents spend 1-3 hours studying a day and 33% spend the same amount on social media per day. There is a relationship between the number of hours students spend daily on social media networks and their overall grade range in school.
