GUIDE MANUAL FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF MP INVERTERS

5. REPLACEMENT OF 3VFMAC DSP-6P SYNC

This chapter is the guide to replace an inverter 3VFMAC DSP-6P SYNC by another 3VFMAC DSP-6P SYNC.

The steps required to carry out the replacement are the following ones:

5.1. READING OF PARAMETERS

Before anything, wherever possible, record 2 groups of parameters: one of them will avoid the
autotuning to be required, the second one will prevent the “readjustment” of the installation to be required.

The first group consists of the following parameters:

- Current control: INT.03/05, INT.04/06, INT.09.

- Shifting frequency: PEC.00

- Motor features: DRI.03, DRI.04, DRI.05, DRI.06, and DRI.07

- Number of pulses per encoder turn: ENC.00

- Adjustment of directions/order of phases: ADJ.09

- Run direction reversal: CNF.05

The second group, for performing the “readjustment” of the installation, consists of the following
parameters:

- Speeds and times of acceleration and stop: TR0.00, TR0.03, group TR1, group TR2 (if the 2nd
speed is activated), RSN.05.

- Control of speed and position: VEL.00, VEL.01, VEL.02, VEL.03, VEL.04, VEL.05, group POS.

- Control of starting and stopping: STC.00, STC.01, STC.02, STC.08, STC.09.

- Compliance with A3 Amendment: Group A3A.

If you have PC tools to capture all the parameters and if the device to be replaced let us do it, you will
save the whole group of parameters. If there are no PC tools to do so, just write them down.

5.2. REPLACEMENT OF THE DEVICE

Before starting with the device replacement, turn off both the controller and the inverter. Before starting
the device replacement, wait for the “HIGH VOLTAGE” LED TO BE TOTALLY OFF.

The replacement inverter will be provided with empty fuse holders F3 and F4, without the covers on and
with terminals C2 and C3 not bypassed. It will also be provided with a plastic bag containing fuses of 1A,
metal plates to connect C2 and C3, ONLY if required, and a special 2-pole Wago connector, wired with
twisted cable.

VERY IMPORTANT

1) Turn off both the controller and the inverter. Before starting the device replacement, wait for
the “HIGH VOLTAGE” LED TO BE TOTALLY OFF.

2) The actions pointed out shall be carried out in sequence.

5.2.6. REMAINING CONNECTIONS

To complete the inverter connection, follow this sequence:

5.2.7. COMMISSIONING
1) Carefully re-check all the connections pointed out in sections 1 to 6.
2) Switch on, both the controller and the inverter.
3) Shift the controller to inspection/MES mode.

ATTENTION: The protection against uncontrolled movements (UCM), according to

EN81-1/2+A3, of this 3VFMAC DSP-6P frequency converter is activated.
If you connect it to an installation without UCM System, it will display the E30 error.
To avoid this problem, you will have to set the following parameter at the right value
(block --->> parameter --->> value, description):
--->> A3A.00
--->> 0: No active

5.3. SETTING OF THE NEW DEVICE

If you could record the values of parameters, as described at chapter 5.1, set the new device to the same
values. Some of them may require an advanced password provided by our After-sales service. In case, go
to chapter 5.4.

If you could not get the values of parameters from the old device, you will have to define the machine
profile. There will be three possible cases:
 CASE 1: if the machine is included in the following table, load the profile by means of parameter
DRI.08.

GUIDE MANUAL FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF MP INVERTERS

The loading of all the parameters, through the code of DRI.08, will avoid the autotuning to be run, even if
the parameters associated to the adjustment of the installation (curves in S, levelling, speeds, control of
speed/position, etc.).

2) Move the lift upwards or downwards. If the error 11, 06 or 14 (speed errors) is displayed,
see/carry out the actions described in appendix V.
3) Perform the procedure described in the quick guide for commissioning of synchronous
machines GRSSPDSPSMG300_EN, back page, clause D (encoder check and run direction
check).

Then, go to chapter 5.4.

 CASE 2: Loading the profile in a manual way

1) If the machine is among the following ones, take the values from the right model included in
appendix IV:

Nº ref. in
APPENDIX BRAND MODEL DESCRIPTION
IV
1 MP maGO 100.2.240 450 kg 2:1 1m/s 3.4 kW

2 MP maGO 125.2.240 630 kg 2:1 1m/s 4.2 kW

3 MP maGO 175.1.400 420 NM 1:1 1m/s

4 MP maGO 175.2.400.60 630 kg 2:1 0,6m/s

5 MP maGO 225.1.400 320 kg 1:1 1 m/s 2.8 kW

6 MP maGO 225.1.400.60 320 kg 1:1 0,6m/s 2.8 kW

7 MP maGO 250.1.240 630 kg 1:1 1m/s 5.1 kW

8 CEG MiniACT 200 PULLEY 210 1000 kg 2:1 1m/s 7.1 kW

9 SASSI G400 L2 1600 kg 2:1 1m/s 10.40 kW

2) Move the lift upwards or downwards. If the error 11, 06 or 14 (speed errors) is displayed,
see/carry out the actions described in appendix V.
3) Perform the procedure described in the quick guide for commissioning synchronous machines
GRSSPDSPSMG300_EN, back page, clause D (encoder check and run direction check).

 CASE 3: The machine type does not appear in any of the previous tables and the parameters of
the old inverter are not at your disposal.
In this case, only in this case, you will have to perform the autotuning procedure which
requires the load to be suspended, as described in the quick guide for commissioning of
synchronous machines (GRSSPDSPSMG300_EN), sent along with the product.

During the performance of this procedure, if the error 11, 06 or 14 (speed errors) is displayed,
see/carry out the actions described in appendix V.

5.4. COMPLETION

When the installation is successfully running, it is very important to record the values of parameters shown
in chapter 5.1.
This way, if the inverter is to be replaced in the future, the commissioning time will be significantly shorter.
