REVIEWER IN SCIENCE- FOURTH PERIODICAL TEST

 Total solar eclipses take place every 18 months

 The lunar eclipse in 2022 will result in the phenomena referred to as the "Blood Moon.
 During their orbits of the Sun, the Earth and the moon do not collide because the
Earth and the Moon have their own orbital planes.
 Lunar eclipse is the eclipse that cannot be safely viewed with the unaided eye
 The Moon appear smaller when there is an annular eclipse because the Moon is at its
furthest point from Earth in its orbit.
 Equator is the name of the imaginary line that circles the Earth at 0° latitude.
 We must look at the intersecting lines of latitude and longitude to locate the exact
places on the earth.
 Fossil fuels are being consumed considerably more quickly than they can be
created that is why they are considered nonrenewable resources.
 degrees, minutes, seconds best describes how numbers should be written when
determining a location on Earth.
 Ozone layer is a region of earth’s stratosphere that absorbs most of the sun’s ultraviolet
radiation. Without the ozone layer, too much harmful ultraviolet radiation will reach the
earth’s surface which is life-threatening. Negative effects include an increase in certain
types of skin cancers, eye cataracts, and immune deficiency disorders.
 Atmospheric temperature increases with altitude in the stratosphere because of the
presence of the ozone layer which absorbs a greater part of ultraviolet rays.
 Mesosphere is the coldest area of the earth’s atmosphere but also the area that
can burn meteors, Meteors entering the mesosphere experience little
resistance in the exosphere and thermosphere, but the density of air in the
mesosphere is enough that friction will burn up meteors.
 The troposphere is the densest part of the atmosphere where 75 - 80% of the
atmospheric mass is located making them use more fuel to travel through it.
Weather systems in the troposphere makes it difficult, even dangerous,
for jet aircrafts to fly because of turbulence, this makes the stratosphere convenient for
planes to fly without experiencing turbulence.
 The troposphere experiences the greatest amount of atmospheric pressure because it is
the region in which weather occurs.
 The Earth’s atmosphere allows sun rays to pass through and warms the Earth’s surface.
It enters the atmosphere by vibrating through air particles of the atmosphere.
 The basis for the division of the layers of the atmosphere surrounding Earth is changing
temperature.
 Warm air is less dense than cooler air.
 The following statements account for the occurrence of land and sea breezes?
I. Differences in air pressure and temperature between land and
water.
II. Similarities in air pressure and temperature between land and
water.
III. Movement of wind from higher pressure area towards a lower pressure
area.
IV. Movement of winds from one place to another caused by the differences of
air temperature and pressure in surroundings
 Land breeze occurs during night time because water cools off slower than land, air
above the water is warm.
 Southwest monsoon brings a heavy rain in the Philippines
 Solar eclipse happens when the moon is slowly moving in front of the sun.
 Amihan is a cool and dry northeast wind that brings slight to moderate rainfall and
prevailing cold wind while Habagat is southwest wind that brings heavy
rainfall and humid weather.
 ITCZ occurs during warm months when these places are much warmer than other places
on Earth. It happens only in countries near the equator because these places receive
direct rays from the sun.
 Autumn (Fall) season is often associated with the harvest of crops
 The tilt of Earth's axis relative to its orbit around the Sun best explains why different
regions of the Earth experience different seasons at the same time
 The seasons are always opposite in the northern and southern hemispheres.
 The tilting of the earth in the northern hemisphere when it is summer in the southern
hemisphere is directly toward the sun.
 Intertropical convergence zone occurs in a tropic region.
 The equator's location receives diffuse sunlight, which results in cooler temperatures.
 Tilt of Earth's axis causes the change in the angle at which sunlight strikes the Earth's
surface during different seasons
 The Southern Hemisphere balances out the temperatures on Earth.
 Regions of the southern and northern hemispheres have four distinct seasons.
 . A partial lunar eclipse.
