The Tariff
General description
The taximeter calculates the tariff thanks to the interaction of 429 programmable parameters.
They work into a block. The F1 have 63 parameters blocks that can be programmed to generate
even the most complex tariff. Two blocks are very particular: Block 0 and the Working Block.
The Block 0 is the StartUp block that loads per default all Working
the 429 parameters in the Working Block when the Block 0 Block

Example
Here follows an example of an easy tariff that uses two Blocks to calculate two different tariff
amounts.
In the subscribed example there are two tariffs that differ for the initial drop value (Parameter n. 11).
The Block 1 has been programmed with an Initial Drop Value of 1000, the Block 2 with a value of
2000.
To pass from Block 1 to Block 2 must be pressed K1 button. To do it program the Parameter n. 13 of
the Block n. 1 with a value of 2 (setting value of 2 means > go to Block 2 ).
To go back to Block 1, set in Parameter n. 13 of Block 2 the value of 1.
With this procedure it is possible to move from Block 1 to Block 2 and change the bander value by
depressing K1 button .
- Power on the taximeter. By default all the parameters programmed in Block 0 get loaded in the
Working Block.
- Press OP button to pass in Hired position. Now Block 1 gets loaded in the Working Block updating
the changed parameters values (Parameter 11 = 0 > 11).

The Tariff
How To Program the Tariff
With this procedure it’s intended to explain in detail the F1’s Tariff Programming.
It is possible to use up to 429 parameters to program a tariff. These parameters are located into a single memory Block.
The blocks available in the taximeter are 63 and each one has its set of 429 programmable parameters.Program a tariff in the F1
taximeter is like to fill a chart made of 63 columns (63 Blocks) and 429 lines ( Parameters).
For a simple tariff is sufficient a single Block to compute the final amount.
For a complex tariff the user must program other parameters in more blocks to generate complex final amounts.
Their content replace, at the programmed event (Prog.Date, Key press, etc..) the relevant parameters of the Working Block.
Every new modified parameter value in a Block will replace the old one in the Working Block updating the tariff.
Note that only the changed parameters going to substitute the old ones, the unchanged parameters value remain active.
The taximeter’s internal software read the blocks in chain and compute them in a so called “Working Block”: this is the one that
makes the final amount calculation.
The blocks chain starts with the Block 0 (It’s the first Block that the taximeter loads when it’s being started up) and ends with
the Block 62.
For a simple tariff, that use at least only the Block 0, the taximeter behaviour is as follow:
Starts up (Block 0 loads its content of 429 parameters value in the Working Block) > Pressing OP it passes from For Hire
to Hired state ( The programmed parameters now are active to generate the tariff ) > Trip endend, stop the taximeter

The" ProgDate"
“Progdate” is a kind of taximeter programming based on time events. This means that is possible to
define a period of time during which a particular action is performed by the taximeter.
The F1 meter can be programmed with up to 50 Progdate records, every one with different
activation times or action to be performed.
It is also possible to specify a time period during the activation days, defined by a start time and an
end time (for example from 12.00 to 15.00 to identify the peak hour).
When the Progdate is activated, a programmed action is performed by the meter. Some are pre-
defined, with fixed meaning, some other are referred to the F1 programming questions. These are
the possible actions codes, with their meaning:
1 = Night Time
2 = Holiday Time
3 = actions identified by Question 63 to Question 73 of the meter programming.
4 = actions identified by Question 74 to Question 84 of the meter programming.
5 = actions identified by Question 85 to Question 95 of the meter programming.
6 = actions identified by Question 96 to Question 106 of the meter programming.
7 = actions identified by Question 107 to Question 117 of the meter programming.
8 = actions identified by Question 118 to Question 128 of the meter programming.
14 = Maintenance Expired
15 = Winter Time
16 = Dimmer Time
17 to 28 = select logo to be printed (only with “Printer Due” and specific firmware releases)
Actions related to the programming Questions can be an absolute or relative block jump, a cost
percentage or delta difference in the costs, or other similar actions.
Please refer to the F1 manual for a detailed explanation of the effects of every specific one.

Programming Keys
The F1 Taximeter has two different programming keys: “Normal Key” and “Memory Key”.
To programme F1 parameters, you should insert one of the two programming keys in its own connector.
1) "Normal Key" (black colour) enables all manual programming procedures ( AutoTest, Tariff Programming,
Fares, Extras, Receipt and so on)
2) "Memory Key" (blue colour) embodies a rewritable Eprom. It can do the following operation:
A) It records all taximeter data: by pushing K1 and inserting then the taximeter key, all tariff data will be copied in the
memory key. “Upload” will appear on main display.
B) It transfers all recorded data to the taximeter where it is inserted: data download from the key to the taximeter.
“Load” will appear on the main display.
*To be noticed that just with one memory-key, pre-programmed, it is possible to programme an end-less number of
meters, all of them having the same tariffs.
The only parameter which does not get copied from the memory-key is the transmission ratio being calculated in
Auto-Test.
The only visible difference between the two keys is the colour: black for the “Normal” and “Blue” for the memory

~ Programming Parameters ~
Here follows the complete list of F1 tariff parameters. They are 429 questions to the user.
Param. Param.
Number Functions Value
194 Block the taxi-meter on light-error? - At the end of the current fare should the taxi-meter be blocked in case of a light-error? No / Yes
The allowed answer is either: 0 (No: don't block) or: 1 (Yes: block).
195 Enable the display-segment-test? - When this option is enabled then in case of an error the message 'ERROR' 'DISPL' will appear on the display. The display-segment- No / Yes
test is done on the moment of passing from Stopped to Hired. The lights tested are: TAXI and light 1 to light 4.
The allowed answer is either: 0 (No: disabled) or: 1 (Yes: enabled).
196 Block taxi-meter on disp.-segment-error? - At the end of the current fare should the taxi-meter be blocked in case of a display-segment-error?
The allowed answer is either: 0 (No: don't block) or: 1 (Yes: block). No / Yes
197 Disable the display-dim function? - The possibility to dim the display should be disabled? General: the allowed answer is either: 0 (No: enable dimming) No / Yes
or: 1 (Yes: disable dimming). The intensity itself can be programmed with Q.198.
198 Intensity displ.-dim function is 50% or 75%? - The intensity of the display can be programmed to have one of two values: 50% or 75%. 0=50%
The allowed answer is either: 0 (No: 50%) or: 1 (Yes: 75%). The display-dim function can be enabled by programming Q.197. 1=75%
199 Fixed Cross-speed: the calculation of the cost of a fare is either based on time or based on distance. 0 - 255 km/h
Below a certain velocity it is convenient to calculate the cost based on time (and not on distance). Above that velocity however it is convenient to calculate the cost based
on distance (and not on time). This velocity is the so called cross-speed. At this velocity the calculated cost is the same for both time and distance. The velocity is given in
Km/h with an accuracy of 1 Km/h. The allowed value goes from 0 (min) to 255 (max).
A fixed cross-speed can be obtained by programming a value between 1 and 255 (Km/h). The value 0 is a special case (default). If 0 is programmed then the cross-speed
is calculated automatically based on Q.2/3/4 and Q.5/6/7.
200 Alarm-velocity speedometer: this is the velocity above which an acoustical alarm-signal is produced. 0 - 255 km/h
If the (over-) velocity is maintained for at least 5 sec. Then it gets registered in the statistics. The registration is maintained for the last 40 events. So, at event n. 41 event n.
1 gets lost. The alarm-velocity is given in Km/h with an accuracy of 1 Km/h. The allowed value goes from 0 (min) to 255 (max). The value 0 is a special case (default). If 0
is programmed then the alarm speedometer is disabled.
201 Speedometer velocity-step: this is the step-amount (of velocity) with which the threshold of the speedometer gets decremented or incremented every time key K3 (dec.) 0-255
or key K4 (inc.) is pressed. The velocity-step is given in Km/h with an accuracy of 1 Km/h.
The allowed value goes from 0 (min) to 255 (max).
