1. Introduction
The School club Zambia Information Technology program consisted of twenty five (25) girls
selected from different schools from School Club Zambia operational areas of Sinazongwe
district of Southern province, who were taught basic knowledge in Information Technology.

2. General Objectives of the Information Technology

program
The general objectives of the IT program were as follows:
(i) Demonstrate an understanding of the concept of safety and misuse when
using technology
(ii) Operate and take care of a computer and its peripherals
(iii) Use a computer to accomplish given tasks
(iv) Appreciate the role computers play in everyday life
(v) Demonstrate understanding and operating skills required for a variety of
Information Technology.

3. Achievements
The training program was for a period of three (3) days. The learners were intensively
trained in major basics in Information Technology. During the learning, the learners
managed to operate a computer and perform simple and complicated tasks such as
creating different documents in Microsoft word, entering and calculating data in
Microsoft excel and how data is processed generally. The learners also learnt the
different storage devices such as flash disc, compact disc, memory card tape recorder, video
recorder, etc.

4. Teacher-Learners interaction and conduct

The learners interacted very well throughout the training program. The learners’
participation was superb. The freedom of participation was guaranteed. The learners
conducted themselves in a more respectable manner throughout the training. As a facilitator
of the IT program, I had no challenges with the conduct of the learners. Their conduct
throughout the training was good and cooperative.
5. Challenges
The training program had few minor challenges, and they were as follows:

(i) Some learners being their first time to use a computer, they had some challenges in
using it especially those who stopped at lower level, like grade 1-4.
(ii) Since most of them had challenges to the extent of stopping school, it was difficult
for them to quickly understand certain terminologies used in information Technology
hence made the learning process a bit slower slow.

6. Recommendations
With the few minor challenges in Information Technology, I therefore make the
following recommendations:
(i) With the government’s re-entry policy, I recommend that the learners be taken
back to school to continue with their education
(ii) Since Information Technology requires hands on, these learners need to be
equipped with their own computers or have access to computers for them not to
forget what they have learnt.
(iii) School where these learners come from should purchase stand alone computers, for
their sustainability of I.C.T skills.

7. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
As a trainer in Information Technology, I would like to further thank School Club
Zambia for the opportunity I haven always been given to impart knowledge and
relevant skills to the learners. It has been a wonderful time interacting with the learners.
I would also want to thank all those who helped me in executing my duties, more
especially the matrons who helped me in keeping peace and order among the learners
during the training program. Last but not the least, may i recognize your as a team
fostering such a programme for i have learnt good testimons from the last two groups.
