CPE 113/L - COMPUTER SYSTEMS SERVICING

Activity 1. Familiarizing with PC modules

Write and define the 3 modules and try to insert them in their respective slots.

Motherboard

Philips Screwdriver

Any PC module (e.g., RAM, Graphics Card, PC WIFI-Card/Module)

SO – Students should be able to determine the said modules from their past lectures and so as insert
them to where they must be inserted.

Activity 2. Performing your first PC Assembly

Partner up with your classmate and perform PC assembly and make sure it runs normally afterwards.

SO – the students should be able to perform PC assembly for they are to become Computer Engineers in
the near Future

Activity 3. Performing your first PC Disassembly

Activity 4. Troubleshooting a Computer System

Form a group and perform a disassembly and assembly, write down all the equipment and
fixes/replacements (if applicable) that you could determine.

SO – the students should be able to perform PC disassembly and assembly for they are to deal with
Computer troubleshooting as they progress to their career.

CPE 312/L - OPERATING SYSTEMS

Activity 1. Familiarizing with Operating Systems

Write the following Operating Systems presented to them and define what is it that makes that said OS
differ from others.

OS of any versions

SO – the students should be able to identify by themselves the pros and cons of every OS there is so that
they could efficiently maximize the performance of each PC.

Activity 2. Creating a bootable device

Create a bootable device out of a CD/DVD or an 8GB flash drive.

Tools:

Any windows OS

CD/DVD or 8GB Flash Drive

Rufus updated version


SO – the students should be able to create a bootable device by themselves as they are to troubleshoot
and/or format PCs that they are going to deal with in the near future.

Activity 3. Factory resetting a Computer System

Install a new OS to your assigned PC. Make sure that it will boot up normally after.

Bootable device (e.g., 8GB bootable flash drive)

SO – the students should be able to properly reset a PC to a fresh new start by themselves for they will
have to deal with these kinds of problems in the future.

Activity 4. Installing the basic needs for a Computer System

Install the following basic necessities for a PC to be able to be of use to users such as company
employees.

Anti-virus installers

WinRAR

All Drivers

Browsers

SO – the students should be able to install and determine the necessary applications for each PC be it for
PCs that are used for school, business, etc.

CPE 224/L - LOGIC CIRCUITS AND DESIGN

Activity 1. Getting acquainted with Logic Gates

Know your Basic Logic gates and create a maximum of 6 circuit configurations using at least 12 logic
gates. And draw a truth table for it.

SO – the students are expected to familiarize each and every bit of the basics of logic gates for the
lectures and circuit analysis that they could do in the future lectures.

Activity 2. The Digital Clock 24-hour format

Create a working digital clock with 24-hours format.

SO – the students are expected to create their own working digital clock through the use of the basic IC
that were provided to them.

Activity 3. The Digital Clock 12-hour format

Create a working digital clock with 12-hours format.

Create an innovative creation coming from a design of your Digital Clock. It could be an Alarm Clock,
timer, etc.

CPE 315/L - FUNDAMENTALS OF MIXED SIGNALS AND SENSORS

Activity 1. Getting acquainted with Operational Amplifiers

Know the basic configurations of an Op-Amp, name 4 configurations and create them in your
breadboard.

SO – the students should be able to create and distinguish different Op-Amp configurations and so as to
determine their uses.

Activity 2. An Innovative circuit design for Operational Amplifiers


Create one innovative Operational Amplifier design.

SO – the students should be able to create innovations out of the basics that were taught to them, as
Computer Engineers they should have an innovative mind to do so.

Activity 3. Familiarizing Arduino sensors

State and distinguish the distinct characteristics of at least 6 sensors that could be used for Arduino
projects and apply them one at a time.

SO – the students are expected to know and apply these sensors, as these could be useful in project
making and innovative inventions that they are going to do in the near future.

Activity 4. Final Arduino Project

Create an Arduino project with 3 different sensors that simultaneously runs to perform one application.

CPE 317/L - CPE ELECTIVE 1

Activity 1. Rectifying AC to DC

Perform basic conversion of AC – DC Voltages through the use of Diodes.

Activity 2. Getting acquainted with BJTs

Write the basic configurations of Bipolar Junction Transistor and create the 3 basic Logic gates using
BJTs.

SO – the students are expected to know how the basic Gates have come to, and appreciate how little did

Activity 3. Getting Acquainted with MOSFETs

Write the basic configurations of Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor (MOSFET) and
create the 3 basic Logic gates using MOSFETs.

Activity 1. The Feedback Loop

Create one Op-amp configuration with a feedback loop and determine the function for why the
feedback loop was placed there.

Create a circuit and distinguish the features of Single-Stage Integrated Circuit Amplifiers.

State one example of a Digital CMOS Logic circuit and perform a detailed circuit analysis of it. While
doing so put the said circuit in the breadboard.

and DRAMs
