 Lenny 1%er 2008

Leonard 'Lenny 1%er' Braund, also mentioned as Lenny Brown, was born
on the 13th of August 1944 and went to our Forever Chapter on the 5th of
March 2023, at the age of 78. His funeral ceremony was last weekend
and was a big turn-out. Makes sense when you know that Lenny 1%er
from Detroit was already a Legend before he passed away! The massive
turn-out all got to eat a nice hot meal for free and great weather.
Brotherhood, crossing (state-)borders came with it, just as Lenny 1%er
wanted it. When joining the AOA in 1966 he had 'Len' on his diamond
patch. Made in 1966, it was all completely hand-embroidered! Nowadays,
technology does the job of course. In those years
it was a habit to mention the Outlaw's name in
the middle of the diamond. That changed after a
funny conversation between Surfer 1%er and
Lenny1%er. Years later, at the time Surfer 1%er

questioned why the coppers always found out
who to blame from the Outlaws when something
happened. Lenny looked at Surfer and noticed
that his name, very clear stitched up in red, had
probably something to do with it... From that
moment Surfer decided that names would not be
allowed anymore on the diamond patch. (lol)
Lenny 1%er was a member of this GBNF-group until the day he passed
away (and the LL-group): and he is still a part today....

Lenny 1%er B.B.T. came initially from a club called the Vigilante's MC
Detroit. He became directly the Detroit boss when Detroit joined the
AOA in 1966. The Detroit chapter was made up from the Vigilante's
MC and the Renegades MC. Some time later Lenny 1%er joined the
Milwaukee Wreckin' Crew for about two years due to circumstances
but joined Detroit again afterwards. Detroit officially sets their entry into
the club as February of 1966, but in fact they were a chapter in late
November or early December of 1965. After a chat with Lenny 1%er,
asking if it should be corrected for the history records, he said to leave
it officially as 1966. At one point there were close to 130 members in
Detroit, but in those early years many stayed only for a year or two and
fucked off when the heat came up. There might have been hundreds,
close to a thousand members in total, who just stayed a few years
back in those days. Taco 1%er took over Lenny 1%er's function after
some years when Lenny had to go on holiday for a little while. The
picture with Lenny 1%er on his red bike was taken in 1966, at Whitnall
Park, Milwaukee. When Lenny 1%er was a Milwaukee member for a
while. Check out the red and white diamond patch.

Lenny 1%er in Detroit:
The city of Detroit was the first
in the United States to have a
confederation of bike clubs.
There were about 80-90 clubs,
most clubs from everywhere.
Cops wanted to close down
clubhouses, know each officer
in the clubs, etc. So 2 guys
from another club came to the
Detroit clubhouse to suggest a
start-up of the confederation.
Lenny 1%er was president back then. It lasted for about 15 years, then
another 21 years nothing… All ‘issues’ with other clubs were ‘solved’ as in
‘no issues’ to make the start-up happen.

Lenny 1%er was an Artist, in
different ways. The last years he
worked a lot on (colored) glass
items. He had sent me a box over
with self made items, glass items,
jewelry,.. for our Family Pack
Party. Named Jail Jar Party back
then. Being an auction to help out
the Brothers in jail. He made very
nice and detailed jewelry and came up with some cool stickers as well.
He was also into the art of woodwork "Fuck JC Penny, buy from
Lenny!". He also is present in the picture book named 'One Percent' by
Michael H. Upright and in all the picture books of Flash' Productions,

brought out by Beverly V. Roberts, GBNF Flash's daughter. Check
out 'Portraits of American Bikers, life in the. 1960s' and all the
others books.. He also opened a couple of coffee shops over the
years in Detroit. Lenny was in a jazz club. Yes, he was a busy
man :) The above picture was taken at a Charlotte Run in 2016,
where he was selling his stained-glass pieces. The video was in

taken,.. He came back to me with

from other Brothers..
