Guidelines to write formal letter
1) Sender’s address should be written only in three lines without name.

2) Date should be written in the given format:- 30 July, 2020

3) Receiver’s address should be written without name but designation should


be mentioned.

4) Subject: A proper subject related to the topic is written here. It carries no


marks and it is optional

5) Salutation: Opening remark of the letter is known as salutation.

E. g Dear sir/ sir,

6) Body of the letter:- First Paragraph – Introduce yourself, place and residence
and one line description of the cause of writing the letter.

Second paragraph:- Description of your cause of writing the letter.

Third paragraph:- Ending line :- Requesting to oblige

E. g. It will be good if you publish this matter in your newspaper. Please


do the needful. OR Hoping for the positive response.
