PROJECT SUMMARY

The project summary contains the synopsis of the study. This chapter introduces the

business and its product, location, project long term objective, feasibility criteria and

highlights of the product. It also includes the time table and status that shows the plan of

target activities which helps to meet the desired results in the business.

INTRODUCTION

Pottery is one of the most durable art forms, with many fragments found from

almost all periods and civilizations worldwide. Flowerpots have several uses, such as

transporting plants to new locations, starting seeds, patio and indoor cultivation, and

growing tender plants in colder regions indoors. Local pottery, especially in the northern

part of the Philippines, such as the I locos region, survives through the steady local

purchases of pots for various uses: as cooking wares, containers for drinking water, fish

sauce, and other delicacies, and as plant adornments. Pots are made from multiple

materials, and some will suit your situation better. A large pot can support plant growth

all season, and there must be a drainage hole in the bottom of the pot. The soil in pots

often warms up faster than soil in the ground, so an earlier harvest of some vegetable

crops is possible. There are a lot of pots made of different materials, such as pots made of

clay; clay pots are readily available, suitable for growing plants, and attractive. However,

they can be expensive and heavy in large sizes, breakable if dropped, and many are

subject to cracking in freezing temperatures. Pots made of plastic, versatile in

appearance, lightweight, durable, and affordable, plastic pots are good for plant growth.

Without a doubt, some are more attractive than others. Some have realistic finishes that

mimic terra cotta, concrete, or stone, and some have rolled rims to give the illusion of

thickness. Larger sizes can be as expensive as pots made of more traditional materials.

Generally, with plastic, you get what you pay for. Cheaper pots may fade and crack in

time, while more expensive ones made of polypropylene do not fade or crack quickly,

and some also offer good insulation. Glazed Ceramics are the most colorful pots, ranging

from subtle earthen tones to playful, vibrant glazes. They are heavy and moderately

expensive in larger sizes. They will break or chip if dropped. Fiberglass, this classic style,

durable, and lightweight containers command premium prices. Because they are more

expensive, these pots are harder to find, and you’ll probably have fewer size and style

choices. The downside is that fiberglass can be brittle and may crack if dropped, and it is

a good insulator from heat or cold. Concrete, attractive, durable, and affordable concrete

pots can be found for sale from local wayside shops that manufacture them and in highly

styled forms from the trendiest shops. They are suitable for plant growth. They can be

expensive in large sizes and are indeed heavy, making them challenging to bring home or

move into the garden. Because they are concrete, consider them permanent.

Pot Plants absorb carbon dioxide through photosynthesis. Potting mix purifies the

toxic air gases that leach from floorboards and carpets. TVs and window coverings

contribute to poor indoor air quality. Scientists at NASA found that indoor plants are

incredibly effective at reducing harmful toxins from the air in confined spaces. The

primary weapon is the potting mix, which feeds bacteria in the air. But this doesn’t mean

a plant less pot is the way to go- the pant nourishes the soil, purifying the air. Burchett

says the humble pot plant can remove urban air pollutants by up to 75 percent within 24

hours. Flowers boost creativity. Choose a pot plant with flowers if you’ve hit a creative

wall.

Pottery helps you to express your creativity, which is essential to expand who you

are and how you connect to yourself and the environment. It’s a good way for people of

all ages to explore what they can do.

The viability of pots had made proponents come up with the Triple M Plant Pot

Manufacturing using dried leaves of Mahogany that will give or make a durable pot,

affordable and not too heavy. A pot that is eco-friendly and significantly reduces waste.

The proponents assure the consumer that this Eco Plant Pot is unique with good quality, a

perfect indoor pot for plants, an eye-catching appearance of the pot, and above all, very

affordable factors in buying a pot/vase product.

NAME OF THE ENTERPRISE

Figure 1.1 Company Logo

A business name is an essential thing to prepare for starting a business. It plays a

significant role because it is the first impression for the customers, and it can be an

advantage over its competitors. The proponents think of a simple name that can easily

remember by anyone. The name of the business was derived from the first letter of the

terms of the founders of this business and added the product that the industry will

produce. Therefore, the business name is Triple M Plant Pot Manufacturing. Triple M

Plant Pot is a manufacturing company that produces plant pots made from dried leaves,

specifically Mahogany leaves. The company wants to help to decrease the amount of

pollution in the country and to produce a sustainable product. Furthermore, dried leaves

that keep on falling from the trees were not easily defined as trash but could be recycled

and formed into a new product.

LOCATION

Figure 1.2

Planning where to locate a business has always been important. Many factors

need to be considered in finding an exact location to build a business. But the important

thing is that having a good site can boost a company's long-term performance, ensuring

the business has customers.

The proponents selected a business location suitable for the product to be

manufactured. The manufacturer is located at Barangay Santor, Tanauan City, Batangas.

The area clearly shows that the business can be accessible by the raw material used to

produce the product and the employees. This area is accessible to the target market,

Tanauan City, Batangas. The manufacturer is located near the highway and the star

tollway's entrance and exit, making it easier to transport and distribute the raw materials

and finished goods. Also, the availability of moderately priced utilities such as electricity,

water, and telecommunications were considered.

DESCRIPTIVE DEFINITION OF THE PRODUCT

The proposal was to establish a small-scale manufacturing firm, Triple M Plant

Pot Manufacturing Company, intending to produce high-quality plant pots. The primary

objectives of this project are to create a successful business that provides quality products

to valued customers while reducing waste. The company has assured that the finished

product will meet the required standards set by government agencies.

By manufacturing these plant pots, the company aims to make the product easily

accessible to the market. The proponents believe the project is worth establishing based

on the information gathered. Customers who need to become more familiar with the

proposed project could be a potential opportunity for the proponents to differentiate and

offer a high-quality, eco-friendly, and valuable product. The proponents are inspired to

create this product for the community to reduce waste, avoid using harmful plastic pots,

and promote a greener future.

PROJECT’S LONG-RANGE OBJECTIVES

One of the essential aspects that must be considered in putting up a business

would be considering the long-range objectives of the company. This project aims to

make the enterprise's product the number one known eco-friendly pot in the local area.

Since we are employing dried leaves instead of other pots made of plastic, the dried

leaves Pot making Co. is looking forward to producing more environmentally friendly

products. It also hopes to gain a solid reputation for creating goods of superior quality. It

is expected to dominate the market and broaden the company's target market From

Tanauan to other regions or possibly the entire country because it is the first company to

manufacture an eco-friendly pot in Tanauan City.

The company is excited to use regional partnerships to increase its target market.

Building a business for a distinct Pottery Shop would be possible since planting a plant is

common. Pot is a common material in planting, making it organized and eye-catching.

NCR CALABARZON is one of the best places for businesses to open franchises since it

offers easy access to both supply and demand.

The company would eventually grow trees like Mahogany, acacia, and others,

offer land, and pay back the earth. Moreover, there is the problem of global warming.

Producing eco-friendly goods would be advantageous for a business and more of nature.

FEASIBILITY CRITERIA

The project's feasibility is feasible in terms of marketing, technical, organization,

and management studies.

The marketing aspect, which is considered crucial, was determined through

demand analysis. The product description, industry profile, target customers, and

competitors were all used to analyze the product's demand thoroughly.

The production process was examined on the technical aspect, including the

location and timing of production, the cost of production, and the necessary technology

investments. The feasibility of equipment, machinery, materials, building, utilities, and

other operating expenses was also discussed.

The organization and management aspect addressed the most suitable business

organization for the proposed subject, the individuals responsible for managing the

organization, the number of operators and qualifications necessary for successful

operation, their compensation, and the anticipated project implementation timetable.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PROJECT

The highlight of the study is where the business will be located and also on how

the reference comes up on establishing the business. It also discussed the history, project

timetable and status, nature of industry, mode of financing, and investment cost. In

addition, a timetable was created to disseminate the step-by-step procedure that will be

undertaken by the proponents.

1. History

It is difficult for the proponents to develop the idea of making a dried leaves pot. It

came after so much brainstorming and changes of plan. They do trial and error to make a

successful pot. The proponents first try a cup that can hold water and then jump to the

more challenging one, which is pottery. The idea of establishing Dried leaf pots came to

help the environment since the country already lacks trees because of human activities

and abuse. The idea was developed by the proponents of what can be made in the dried

leaves that can be useful for the user and the environment. From this, the proponents

want to establish a manufacturing pot business that allows consumers to have cheaper

and quality pots.

2. Project Timetable and Status

The timetable of the project is presented to give clear time plan that says how

long it will take to do the specified activity and gives a time for finishing each stage of

the process. This will be essential for the organization to manage their time very

effectively.

3. Name of Industry

Dried Leaves Pot is an environmentally friendly business and practically handy for

users. This type of product can be beneficial in conserving trees. The proponents named

the company “Dried leaves,” which means even the things that had been fall, there are

new things we can create like this product. By this, dried leaves will have a better

purpose than being trash, and their components are cheaper and eco-friendly. This

business aims to satisfy the customer and provide them a good quality pot.

4. Mode of Financing

The project's total investment expenses will be funded through the proponents'

resources and a bank loan. The three owners, Mary Rose D. Cumahig, Manuel

Angela Macatangay, and Mia Kichelle T. Oliveros, will contribute an equal 50%

towards the investment costs, with the remaining half being financed through the

bank loan. As the three proponents divide the investment cost equally, profits will

also be shared equally.

5. Investment Costs

The project's investment cost encompasses both fixed capital, which includes

the necessary resources for constructing and equipping the investment project, and

stability of the business. They considered how much cash is needed, where it will

come from, how it will be spent, and whether a project is feasible. The financials

show that Eco Plant Pot will have a starting capital with a total amount of Php …

investors will finance that. There will be a total of nine investors to fund the

proposed business. Based on the results of the study, the company will be

feasible. The development of the current ratio is generally increasing. Lastly, with

the accumulated, interpolation, and simple methods, it is determined that the

payback period is favorable since it is nine expected to be accomplished within

two years and eight months to get the initial investment back. It is acceptable

since the computed payback period is less than five years.

4. Socio-Economic Aspect

Eco Plant Pot will benefit the local province's management, consumers,

suppliers, and economic status. The project will help the company to generate

business as well as decrease the disposal of waste by the citizen in the

with dried leaves. The proponents created the name Eco Plant Pot, meaning

economically plant pot. Dried Leaves imply that even the leaves that continue to

fall from the trees are not easily classified as trash but can be recycled and used to

create a new product.

2. Properties of the Product

Clay, ceramic, glass, and other materials can all be used as the main

ingredients in a pot, but their supply is not universal. An Eco Plant pot is a

particular type of pot that is made of or contains dried leaves. Depending on the

type, trees' leaves can be used for various things; however, after they have

completely dried up, they fall to the ground and are transformed from garbage

into a fresh, helpful items.

3. Uses of the Product

The company's Eco Plant pot product will employ indoor and outdoor pot

plants. Using dried leaves as a substitute for clay, ceramic, glass, and other

materials in the production of pots can have a significant positive impact on the

environment. By doing this, dried leaves will serve a use other than becoming

trash, and their constituent parts are also far less expensive, less wasteful, and

more environmentally friendly. The preservation of trees can benefit greatly from

this kind of product.

The product can acquire by everyone. The main target audiences of this

study would be the stores around Tanauan City.

5. Geographical Areas of Dispersion

The Eco Plant Pot, Triple M Pot Manufacturing Company produces a new

pot made of dried leaves that can be sold around Tanauan City and eventually

anywhere in the Philippines, especially to those who often love planting plants.

The company will be located in Barangay Santor, Tanauan City, where there is

easy access to transportation. In the preliminary stage of the business, sales, and

market feedback would be statistically monitored to support product development.

This area was found to be accessible. The enterprise would be composed of

different sellers and suppliers. This could make the collection of raw materials

and delivery more prompt.

B. Demand Analysis

A demand study sought to characterize the product's overall demand's

scope, makeup, and trajectory. Demand describes what consumers want and how

keen they are to purchase goods at a specific price. Demand is a term used in

economics to describe how much of a good or service a customer can buy at a

particular price. Knowing the demand for a product is crucial since it forms the

foundation of any business. Based on the total number of current inhabitants,

D. Demand - Supply Analysis

A demand and supply analysis is essential to determine the feasibility of

the proposed study. The relationship between demand and supply must be

assessed to ensure that the study is feasible to the market. The demand must be

higher than the supply to make sure that there is a gap and that the proposed

product has the possibility to enter within the gap. This analysis also allows us to

evaluate whether the supply offered by companies satisfies the demands of

customers. Understanding the interaction between consumers and suppliers is

critical, and the demand-supply trend provides insights into their relationship.

Essentially, the demand-supply trend serves as a foundation for determining the

size of the market gap that the new product can potentially fill. By evaluating this

trend, we can estimate the market opportunity for the proposed product, which

can inform future decisions regarding product development and marketing

strategies.

Market share is the proportion of the firm's total product sales during a

defined duration in a specific market. It is one of the factors of the business that

determines its growth through capturing the shares over the competitors. The

company's market share is the proportion of the total earned by the industry. This

is also calculated by dividing the company's sales over the period by the industry's

total sales over the same period.

F. Price Study

G. Factors Affecting the Market

To succeed in today's competitive market, a company must consider

several market-affecting elements. These elements, which may boost or decrease

output, might be social, technical, political, and economic. The five Ps—product,

price, place, promotion, and people—affect the market. This element can

significantly impact the business's success because the market comprises

everything.

1. Product

The Eco Plant Pot, Triple M. Manufacturing Company offers the newest

type of pots made from raw materials that the community typically ignores. While

the current pots produced by many companies are made of common materials,

they are made from uncommon raw materials. Eco-pots are an environmentally

friendly product that will reduce waste while serving the community.

their product. They are confident that their product is not only of better quality

than the current pots available in the market but it is also more affordable. They

believe their product's affordability and superior quality will make it highly

attractive to consumers.

Given that their Plant pot can be used as an alternative to both plastic and

clay pots, the researchers expect that there will be a significant demand for their

product. They have analyzed the current pot market and found that the lowest

price for small pots is ₱72.00-₱85.00. However, according to their research, the

final cost to sell their plant pot of the same size will only be ₱50.00-70.00. This

cost is significantly lower than the current market price but still ensures a good

profit.

Process Flow Chart

A flow chart (also known as a process flow diagram) is a graphical tool

that depicts distinct steps of a process in sequential order. The basic idea is to include all
the essential steps in the process. Also, flowcharts are often annotated with performance
information (sixsigmadaily.com, 2013). The Triple M Eco Plant Pot Manufacturing will
adopt a manufacturing process wherein tasks can be simultaneously done. It is to
maximize its production in its daily operations. It includes the process-by-process of
producing a leaf Pot. The first process is the preparation of raw materials. The following
process is mixing the fundamental component in a molder to form the Pot. After placing
the mixture on the molder, the heating process makes it stronger and more durable. Also,
the process will include inspecting and delivering the finished goods.

K. Waste Disposal

Waste disposal is the collection, transport, processing, recycling, or

disposal of waste materials in human society. It is one of the most effective ways

to increase the profitability of a business. To eliminate waste, it is essential to

understand what it is and where it exists. To reduce its effect on a company is by

improving the performance and quality. After the business operation, the

employees must bring out all the waste and put it in the proper container outside

the production to be collected by the garbage collectors. As a manufacturing type

of business, the Triple M Manufacturing Company produces only biodegradable

waste such as dried leaves and paper. The waste produced by making an Eco

Plant pot is the excess dried leaves stem, the part where it is hard to blend.

However, a compost pit will be where the extra dried leaves will be placed and

used as fertilizer. At the same time, the excess paper in the molding process can

be used again by mixing it into the shredded dried leaves and producing another

piece. Regarding liquid waste, water will be used to clean the whole facility, and

it is considered household and not hazardous.
