Activity #9: ASSIGNMENT

I. Read ‘The Story of Benito’ then write a summary of it.

II. Read the following paragraph then write an acceptable paraphrase.

Language anxiety experiences, as the findings show, may be experienced cognitively,

physiologically, psychologically, physically, emotionally, psychosocially, or in
combination. As a result, it may sometimes be difficult to express through words the
language anxiety experience one wants to share. However, with the use of doodling, a
non-verbal tool, the key informants were able to clearly capture and their experiences.
Doodling, therefore, may also be a potential tool in generating other experiences
brought about by a psychological phenomenon or construct, although its application
may not be generalizable. (Siagto-Wakat, 2017)

Answer:

Findings reveal that language anxiety experiences could turn out to be cognitive,
physiological, psychological, physical emotional, psychosocial, or a combination of
those. Consequently, it may sometimes be challenging to articulate the feelings of
language anxiety that one wishes to share. Fortunately the key respondents were
able to clearly convey their experiences thru the non-verbal medium of doodling.
This means that even if its utilization might not be applicable to others, doodling
may also be an effective way to develop other experiences caused by a
psychological phenomenon or construct.(Siagto-Wakat, 2017)

I.

Benito was an only child who resided in an underdeveloped village with his father
and mother. He imagined the day when he would be able to support his parents.
One evening, he was informed by his father about a young monarch who resided
in a magnificent palace. Benito approached the king to request employment since
he wished to become one. Despite how exhausting the travel was, he eventually
found employment as a servant. Benito was sent to help bring a princess from a
country across the ocean, and he was eager to carry out his mission. He traveled
far before arriving to a dense jungle, where he discovered a huge bird that was
firmly strung up. The bird rapidly took flight after being quickly released,
calling its name Sparrowhawk. Benito was saved by the King of the Fishes, who
offered to sail him across the ocean to find the lovely Princess. Benito then
encountered a strange woman who gave him a magic sword so he could kill the
princess in a castle defended by giants. The giants bolted from the fortress
unarmed, leaving it unattended as he approached. Happy to be free, the
Princess traveled to the king’s palace with Benito. Benito was given the task of
locating the ring that the King of the Fishes had misplaced while traveling from
the country of the giants. The larger ones snatched the ring by the tail and
dragged it to the King after discovering It hidden beneath a stone that was so
full that it was incapable of swimming when they arrived. Benito was unable to
swim since he had consumed so much food. Benito was ecstatic to discover the
Princess’s misplaced earring in the woods. If Benito discovered the earring, the
King Fish would ask the Princess to be his wife. Benito conducted a thorough
search without success. He was shocked to eventually come upon the King of
Mice, who offered to assist him. The Princess requested the King for water
from heaven and the lower world, and Benito called in on an errand to acquire it.
The King presented the Princess with a missing earring that he had located in a
hole among bamboo trees and asked her to be his wife. Benito constructed two
thin cups out of bamboo to attach to the bird’s legs after it pledged to assist
him. However, the journey had been too much for the bird, and it was already
dead when it returned with both cups full. Benito had to rush to the castle with
the priceless water after burying the bird. The Princess pleaded with the King
to divide her and pour water from heaven over her, but he was unable to do so.
The Princess then reached out Benito, and the two of them got married and
ruled the country as king and queen. However, Benito never forgot his parents
and left them with one of the greatest areas of his realm.
