IDENTITY
In terms of a designer, my identity is very much tied
to my creativity and inspirations. More than
creating new creations, I am very passionate about
improving already existing designs and making them
more convenient and useful through innovation and
meaningful design. I believe in biomimicry, and that
the most efficient and sustainable solutions can be
found through nature. I really like the idea of
getting inspired by nature and finding ways to
incorporate nature within my designs.

I am also very interested in designing for different

user groups, like animals, and being able to increase
user experience through more than human design.
Involving the user within the process of my design
is very important to me, since the implementation
and use of an actual product is what determines its
usefulness and success. I am also interested in
behavioural design, wherein products can evoke a
positive change in behaviour within users.

Within a team, I typically tend to take the role of a

co-ordinator and a plant. I like to listen to all ideas
and skillsets within my team and am able to
delegate tasks accordingly. I also enjoy the ideation
stage throughly and am able to generate ideas to
solve the problem.
VISION
Emerging new technologies are constantly evolving
and changing the game. The divide between
humans and nature is increasingly apparent. As an
industrial designer, I want to be able to be flexible
enough to be able to use technological innovations
to my advantage and find solutions for everyday
problems that people dont even realise are
problems, in order to incrementally better society
and the people living in it. I want to create
interactive and engaging products which are useful
and sustainable.

My ideal for the future of designers would be

making ethical and sustainable solutions, which
cause minimal harm to the environment while being
interesting. There would be a symbiotic relationship
between nature and technology, allowing for a
thriving society.
GOALS IN
PROJECT 1
My role in the design process is typically sketching,
researching and thinking of ideas. I also really love
prototyping. I was able to make low fidelity
prototypes through the quick and dirty prototyping
session as well as high fidelity prototypes to
present at demo day. Through project 1, I was able
to improve my prototyping skills, and was able to
more proficiently use machines at vertigo. I also
utilised the skill I learned through the course
Exploratory sketching to make more detailed
sketches using perspective. I am, however, not as
well equipped with the more technical aspects of
designs such as the electronics. I also learnt more
skills such as soldering and was able to help with
the electronics of the project.

I was also able to improve my professional skills

such as communication and pitching, and I feel more
confident when presenting my work.
