ENEMY OF THE STATE

Enemy of the State is a 1998 spy-thriller film about a group of rogue NSA agents who kill a US Congressman and try to cover up the murder, unfortunately an environmentalist had positioned a video camera to study the lake shore, and the murder is captured on tape. Once Reynolds realizes the existence of the environmentalist's videotape, he sends his agents after him. The environmentalist dies trying to flee, but not before he slips the tape to the unwitting Dean. When Reynolds discovers that Dean may have the tape, he assembles a team of agents to retrieve the tape and discredit Dean (in case he manages to publicize the tape). As Dean's professional and private life begins to disintegrate, he is forced into hiding while he tries to figure out what's happening (he still thinks the campaign against him has been orchestrated by Pintero). Dean's prospects for survival look decidedly slim until he receives assistance of Brill who is also a surveillance expert. The two team up in an attempt to stay alive and to untangle the murder conspiracy. This movie uses lots of communication, electronics and far reaching surveillance devices and in this movie the National Security Agency was able to hide recording bugs in places no one would suspect, such as inside the lamps, television sets, watch, ballpens, mobile phones, shoes, pants, audio recording bugs that remotely pick up conversations and even in the buttons of the clothes. The movie also used satellites, and this are used for a large number of purposes. Common types include military and civilian Earth observation satellites, communications satellites, navigation satellites, weather satellites, and research satellites. Space stations and human spacecraft in orbit are also satellites. With this movie NSA used Navigational satellites which use radio time signals transmitted to enable mobile receivers on the ground to determine their exact location. The relatively clear line of sight between the satellites and receivers on the ground, combined with ever-improving

electronics, allows satellite navigation systems to measure location to accuracies on the order of a few meters in real time. The movie also used GPS. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a spacebased global navigation satellite system (GNSS) that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. It is maintained by the United States government and is freely accessible by anyone with a GPS receiver. Another device that has been used is the GSM Double Plug Adapter is an audio monitoring and transmitting covert device that houses a concealed GSM unit and a digital sound processor for remotely listening in real time to conversations and ambient sounds. Surveillance is a gift and curse of modern technology. The movie "Enemy of the State" is a fantastic portrayal of how a person can be tracked almost every second of the day. When you leave your home, you may be monitored at your workplace, at the store you stop to pick up grocery or at the gas station. Technologies like, CCTV, networking, digital software and computers have made these intrusions possible. Those electronics, communication and surveillance devices are already in used this days you can see many CCTVs in malls, grocery stores, gasoline stations, and even in residential houses this device is use to monitor those places and to capture it on tape and prevent crimes to happen. The disadvantage of this devices is that you could be monitored secretly just like what happen to the lead actor in the movie, Dean's personal privacy is invaded by his own government using this high technology devices planted in his home, office and even on his person. This electronics devices are can be also be very harmful if it will be use by terrorist it can be use to harm or kill people with just a click.
