Concept : Encourage all the members of the family to work
cooperatively in doing household chores.
Time Allotment : 60 mins.

Content Standard:The learner demonstrates understanding and appreciation of


various literary and informative texts with emphasis on Philippine folk literature to
develop better understanding of the human condition and the environment.

Performance Standard: The learner produces a creative compilation of Philippine


folk literature and draws out in them inherent Filipino values to be presented in a
personally preferred format.

Competency: Transcode orally and in writing the information presented in


diagrams, charts, table, graphs, etc.

I. Objectives :
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
A. Make your own pie chart
B. Interpret the facts shown in your pie chart.
C. Appreciate the value of equality among boys and girls.
II. Subject Matter:
A. Topic : Non-linear Text

B. Instructional Materials: Pictures, Manila paper, Colored paper,

III. Procedure:
A. Introduction:
1. Preliminary Activities:

c. Checking of Attendance
d. Review previous lesson
2. Motivation:
The teacher will show these pictures to the students:

Motive Question:
What do you think is happening in the scenario?
How do the characters in the scenario feel?
Did you ever have the same feelings?
3. Activating Prior Knowledge:

Teacher will posts the word “EQUALITY” on the board.


Then, give a second to ask the students,
” Is there any situation that you have experienced that you can
say that there is inequality? If there is, please state.”

B. Interaction:

A. Lesson Proper:

 The teacher will divide the class; see to it that there are
equal number of boys and girls in a group.
 Then, present this scenario to the group.

in doing household chores? Why or why not?
 In your own home, how do you value equality among
doing household chores?
 Do you think equality is important in one’s own home?
Why or why not?
Lead students to the following generalization:
 In today’s generation, girls and boys are having equal
rights. Hence, in doing household chores.
 As a member of the family, everybody has a responsibility,
either boys or girls to help your parents maintain your home
into a clean and safe place to live in.
 Valuing equality starts at home. Girls do not dominate the
task in doing household chores. Boys are also assigned to
do task in home-management.

IV. Evaluation:

Make your own pie chart as what you have interpreted out of the picture
presented by your teacher. Prepare to interpret it orally in class. (please see
rubrics attached)
