Personal Statement

My two favorite things are computers and math. Since childhood, I have been intrigued by how
mathematical solutions can be applied to real-life problems. The curiosity to learn more about this
process and technological inventions made me participate in many workshops on programming
and Math Olympiad examinations throughout my school years. As a result of gaining insight into
how computer programs are structured to solve problems, I decided to pursue an undergraduate
degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the Vellore Institute of Technology.
One thing that excited me about VIT is its curriculum. It is designed in such a way that it provides
in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in every course. My deep interest in computer
programming led me to learn Python, C, and Java. I have taken subjects like Data Structures and
Algorithms, Parallel and Distributed Computing, and Database Management Systems to
understand current industry trends. This learning allowed me to develop a web portal using html,
PHP, CSS, JavaScript and some SQL functions which allows people to listen music according to
their taste since it allows user to filter based on genre, artist, release date, mood and language. As
I worked through each project, I realized that projects offer an opportunity for students to put their
knowledge and abilities into building something valuable and productive.
My penchant for excellence not only pushed me towards obtaining the best grades but also inspired
me to work for my holistic growth. I took part in various extracurricular activities including a 10k
run to raise awareness on cancer. I believe that ultimate success lies in making a positive
contribution to society, making our beautiful world a better place to live, and making people smile,
especially the poor. As an active National Service Plan (NSS) Volunteer, I had the privilege of
organizing a welfare camp for people living in remote areas of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Through
organizing the events in TechnoVIT - An International Level Technical Festival of VIT, I learned
leadership skills and many other valuable lessons, one of which I'll carry with me for the rest of
my life - no matter what we do in life, we can always do it better.
After graduation, I joined Deloitte as an Analyst. In this role, I have designed and executed
customer loan journey for an Equipment Financial Firm on Sales Cloud with the use of LWC,
Salesforce configuration/customization and Apex for integration framework involving Rest API
in Agile framework. I had interacted proactively with clients to ascertain their requirements and
proposed effective solutions. I was responsible for working on new initiatives for Upcoming
releases with Architects and Product Owners along with design discussions and planning.
With my interests inclined more towards solving everyday problems and the never-ending urge to
learn something new every day. I see my potential getting recognized by Yeshiva University
because of its focus on individual growth and development. The erudite facilities offered by the
University are remarkable. The worldwide recognition that the USA degree holds has steered me
further to apply for the course of my dreams in the USA for a more impactful career, knowledge,
and experience.
I am filled with energy to contribute to the people who have either inspired me or helped me in
getting trained in the field of computer science. I bring with me the zest to serve the lands where I
gained knowledge on the subjects of my interest and the zeal to deal with complex problems.
