Overview:
M2X16 is a 10G OTN Muxponder board which can realize the multiplexing and demultiplexing functions of 16
channels of services at any rate to OTU2.

The client-side port supports access of 16 channels of services at the rate below 2.5G. The typical services
include STM-1/4/16 and FE/GE. The line-side port supports 2 channels of OTU2 signals, supports standard
FEC and enhanced FEC error correction Function.

The STN6800-M2X16 service card is suitable for STN6800 2U/ 5U /10U chassis.

Functions:
➢ The client-side port supports access of 16 channels of services at the rate below 2.5G. The typical
services include STM-1/4/16 and FE/GE.
➢ The line-side port supports 2 channels of OTU2 signals, which supports standard FEC and enhanced FEC
error correction function.
➢ The board supports cross-connect of OTN services and overhead processing functions.
➢ The board supports GCC in-band management channel.
➢ The board supports OTN electrical layer protection function.

Indicator RUN Indicator light of board running state.
Light
Slow flash of green light: The system has been successfully started.

Green Light Always OFF: The system has not been started.

FAULT Indicator light of board alarm.

Quick flash of red light: The board is mismatched.

Slow flash of red light: There is latchopen alarm of the board.

Red Light Always ON: There is alarm of the board.

Red Light Always OFF: There is no alarm of the board.

Optical 1~2 Line-side optical interface, XFP packaging.
Interface 3~18 Client-side optical interface, SFP packaging.

M2X16 Functional Unit Description:

M2X16 board provides 16 client-side optical transceiver modules, each of

which is pluggable packaing module (SFP).

Receiving Direction: access STM-1/4/16 (OC-3/12/48）and FE/GE services to

Transmitting Direction: Achieve electrical-optical conversion and output

STM-1/4/16 (OC-3/12/48) and FE/GE service signals.

Realize the mapping/demapping process of client service electrical signals

ODUk Mapping Unit
and ODUk (k=0, 1) signals, and detect and process ODUk overhead.

Service Cross-connect Unit Realize the cross-connect function of client service signals.

Detect and process the overhead of OTU2 frame, and complete the
OTU Framing Unit multiplexing/demultiplexing process of ODUk (k=0, 1) and OTU2 signals.
Moreover, realize FEC coding and error correction functions.

M2X16 board provides 2 line-side optical transceiver modules which are with
pluggable packaging (XFP), to realize the optical-electrical conversion and
electrical-optical conversion of OTU2 signals.
Transmitting Direction: Access OTU2 electrical signals from OTU framing unit,
realize electrical-optical conversion and output OTU2 optical signals.
Receiving Direction: Realize optical-electrical conversion of OTU2 optical
signals and output them to OUT framing unit.
