Activities on Heads and Tails

1. Summarize the Definition of Head and Tails in your own words
Your Summary:
Head allows the speakers to highlight the topic they want to talk about before
commenting on it, giving both the speaker and the listener more processing time
in real time communication. Meanwhile tail deal with the real time processing
and interactiveness of speech by allowing the speakers to both edit their
comments and give evaluative statements of topics. The function of tail including
clarifying a comment, expressing a personal attitude and serving an interpersonal
function.

2. Explain why do the examples in part B.b. is different! What does it mean by
“with head” and “no head”!
Your Explanation:
I inferred from the two instances in part B that sentence 1 employs a head,
implying that the subject is repeated. "The soccer game" is the first topic. After a
comma (,), the topic is repeated, but this time with the word "it." The initial
subject is referred to as "it." The subject in the sentence 2 is only one and remains
a single sentence with no repeat of the subject.
