A front-end web developer is responsible for implementing visual and
interactive elements that users engage with through their web browser
when using a web application. They are usually supported by back-end web
developers, who are responsible for server-side application logic and
integration of the work front-end developers do.
Working environment
Some Front-End Developers might work
from Home but when it comes to games or
large corporations it is most common that
they work in an office or studio.
What type of companies will hire Front-end Developers?
Companies such as Amazon, Indeed,
Google, Kforce, and many others will
hire Front end developers to work things
such as a layout and a
customer-friendly interface.
Current Demand for Front-end Developers
In 2021, Indeed lists 6000+ job openings for
front-end developers. Google shows steady
and consistent interest in the search term over
the past 5 years. And the growing technical
needs of many industries indicate that
front-end development is still very much in
demand.
What type of classes/Degrees would you need?
Front-end developers need a minimum
of a bachelor's degree in computer
science or a related field. This position
also requires a strong knowledge of
web development tools and
programming languages
Why do I like this Career?
The reason I like this career is because
Front-end development is a pretty flexible
field in terms of where and when it can get
done. The amount of freelance work
available tends to be just as plentiful as
full-time openings.
What are the typical pay/benefits for a front-end developer
They say the average frontend developer
salary is $103,832, with an average
$2,500 yearly cash bonus. Average
frontend developer salary, according to
PayScale. PayScale reports the average
salary at $75,310 per year, with a low of
$50K and a high of $90K. (As of April of
2022)
