the

mountains.

My name is Carolay and my last name is Rodriguez and I'm going to tell you

about the shac shas dance.

Its origin dates back to pre-Inca times attributed to the Shac Shas
countryside

located in the province of Huaraz Yungay in Peru.

It is an Ancashino dance that is performed on the occasion of religious

festivities to the rhythm of the camparo accompanied by a chisquero who

dances with elegance and harmony and performs the sonorous shac shas

The original dancers were native warriors who wore long hair with a colorful

crown.

2 – Hilda: Good morning my name is hilda and my last name is picon and I will tell you

about the palla dance.


Palla is a Quechua word that means married princess representative of the

Inoa nobility. Legend has it that it was created to avoid a massacre and

dancing on the mountain of Pallas was the mediation between the people
and

the patron saint.

Her clothing is very elegant, made up of a skirt and sleeves with ruffles and

lace and a headdress made of patches and feathers that intertwine with her

hair and gold and silver jewelry.

3 – Florcita: Good morning my name is Florcita and my last name is Yauri and I will tell

you about the Huaracina marine dance.

Its roots are from the Creole dance of the Peruvian coast and it is a mixture

of European and African music.

The huaracina sailor is danced in line with the couple in front with fluid and

fast movements and a typically blue short skirt is worn and the men dress in

black and both wear hats


4 – Mary: Good morning my name is Mary and my last name is Quesada and I will tell

you about the chimaychi dance.

It is a typical dance of the Ancash region of the Pomabamba province and is

characterized for being a very original variety of the Ancashino huayno


dance

in a group of mixed couples.

They dress using black or brown leather ankle boots light blue or lilac pink

blouse white hat with red ribbon handkerchief.

5 – Oriannys: Good morning my name is Oriannys and my last name is Barrios and I will

talk to you about the Huaracino carnival dance.

It is an ancestral Andean dance practiced by the inhabitants of Huaraz at

carnival parties with huaynos music long before the Spanish arrived and it

was done as a cult of water and the harvest.

The women dress in black skirts and yellow, green and red nightgowns and
the men in black and white shirts, both with hats.
6 – Jhon: Good morning my name is Jhon and my last name is Ramirez and I will talk

to you about the black dance.

The origin of this dance is from the slavery of blacks who were traded in
Peru

in the sixteenth century. They cover their faces with a personalized black

leather mask and are celebrated at the Virgen del Socorro festival.
