TERMS AND CONDITIONS

APPLY & GET REWARDED WITH CIMB CREDIT CARD CAMPAIGN

1. The Apply & Get Rewarded with CIMB Credit Card Campaign (“this Campaign”) is jointly organized by CIMB
Bank Berhad [Registration No: 197201001799 (13491-P)] (“CIMB Bank”) and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad
[Registration No: 200401032872 (671380-H)] (“CIMB Islamic”). CIMB Bank and/or CIMB Islamic shall herein
collectively be referred to as (“CIMB”).

Campaign Period

2. This Campaign shall run from 1 March 2023 until 31 May 2023, both dates inclusive (“Campaign Period”).

3. CIMB reserves the right upon giving prior notice of fourteen (14) days to change the duration and/or the
commencement and/or expiry dates of the Campaign Period.

Eligibility

4. This Campaign is open to New-to-Card (“NTC”) Applicants (customers who do not own a credit card issued
by CIMB) who applies for new CIMB principal credit card(s) issued by CIMB, (except Platinum Business Card
and Fuel Tanker Card) during the Campaign Period (“Eligible Participants”);

The following categories of persons/entities shall NOT be eligible to participate in this Campaign:-

(i) Individuals below the age of 21 years at the time of application; and/or

(ii) An existing CIMB principal credit cardholder of any CIMB credit cards; and/or

(iii) Permanent and/or contract employees of CIMB (including its subsidiaries and related companies) –
with reference of Clause 7 herein; and/or

(iv) NTC Applicants who have joined other CIMB credit card acquisition campaign during the Campaign
Period – with reference of Clause 16 and 26 herein; and/or

(v) A customer who cancelled his/her CIMB principal credit card in the last six (6) months from the
Campaign Period and is re-applying for a CIMB principal credit card under this Campaign

5. For the Supplementary Offer, NTC Applicants are required to apply for at least (1) new CIMB principal credit
card together with one (1) supplementary CIMB credit card during the Campaign Period and existing CIMB
Principal Credit Cardholders (“ETC”) are required to apply for at least one (1) Supplementary CIMB credit
card.

6. For the purpose of this Campaign, the Eligible Participants must submit the credit card application during the
Campaign Period and the credit card application must be successfully approved by CIMB by 8th June 2023.

7. Permanent, contract and/or temporary staff or employees of CIMB Group (i.e. CIMB Investment Bank
Berhad, CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic Bank) and their immediate family members (i.e. their spouses, children,
brothers and sisters) are eligible to participate for Category 1 - Welcome Offer ONLY (as set out in Table 1
under Clause 8(a) throughout the Campaign Period. For the avoidance of doubt, such staff or employees or

their immediate family members will not be eligible to participate in the Category 2 – Stand to Win RM1,000
Cash Back (as defined under Clause 8(b)).

Campaign Mechanics

8. Subject to the fulfilment of Clause 6 above, the Eligible Participants shall be entitled to participate in this
Campaign if they fulfil the following campaign mechanics:

(a) Category 1 - Welcome Offer (“Welcome Offer”)

i. Activate the eligible credit card and make retail transaction “Eligible Retail Transaction(s)” (as
defined under Clause 9 herein) by it in the manner explained below:

Card Approval Date shall mean the date as stated in the card carrier that is sent together with the
CIMB credit card to the Applicant(s).

The spend period above shall be referred to as “Qualifying Period”

ii. For the avoidance of doubt, each Eligible Participant is entitled to receive a maximum of RM50
Welcome Offer throughout Campaign Period as described in illustration below.

iii. In the event, Eligible Participant(s) applied for more than one (1) Principal Credit Card, the
spend made on all of his/her newly approved CIMB Principal Credit Card(s) shall be
consolidated and not be viewed individually.

iv. Each Eligible Participants is entitled to receive a maximum of one (1) Supplementary Welcome
Offer which is capped at RM25 throughout the Campaign Period, regardless of the number of
Supplementary credit card applied for and duly approved during the Campaign Period.

(b) Category 2 - Stand to Win RM1,000 Cash Back (“Cash Back”)

i. Eligible Participant may participate Category 2 in this Campaign and stand to win Cash Back offered
by earning “Entries” in the manner set out below:

ii. There will be a total of one hundred and eighty (180) winners will be randomly selected. The winners
and Cash Back breakdown as follow:

iii. Eligible Auto Billing transactions “Eligible Auto Billing Transaction(s)” for the Campaign shall define
under Clause 10 and Clause 11 herein.

iv. Only the NTC Applicants are entitled to participate in Category 2 under this Campaign. For the
avoidance of doubt, existing CIMB Principal Credit Cardholders whom applied for Supplementary
CIMB credit card shall not be considered as Eligible Participants for the purposes of Category 2 in
this Campaign.

9. Eligible Retail Transactions for the Campaign shall mean purchase for goods and/or services include online
purchase, local and/or overseas retail transaction charged to any of the Eligible Participant’s credit card
account(s) during the Qualifying Period and Entries Accumulation Period. For the avoidance of doubt the
following transactions are herein expressly excluded and shall not be treated as an Eligible Retail
Transaction(s):-

(i) Cash advance/withdrawal/deposit transactions;


(ii) Transactions made on CIMB’s Platinum Business Card and Fuel Tanker Card;
(iii)Quasi Cash transactions – (example: betting and/or gaming transactions);
(iv) Monthly installments under any installment payment facility provided by CIMB or any other financial
institutions or funds transfer from other Financial Institutions;
(v) Payment of annual fees or service charges, delivery charges, cash payments, card replacement fees,
dispute charges, fraud charges or any other fees, charges or penalties whether imposed by CIMB or
otherwise;
(vi) Eligible Retail Transaction which is subsequently cancelled or refunded, or any other disputed,
unauthorized or fraudulent transactions.

(vii) Any transaction made in the country which is a member of the European Economic Community (EEC) or
European Union (EU).

Any determination by CIMB’s as to what constitutes Eligible Retail Spending Transactions shall be conclusive
and shall not be challenged in any manner whatsoever unless the same appears as grossly unfair or unjust.

10. Auto Billing is a payment that automatically charges the Eligible Participant(s) monthly bill payment(s) to the
Eligible Participant’s credit card account(s) as and when the payment(s) is due. For the avoidance of doubt,
the Eligible Auto Billing Transaction(s) must be reflected in Eligible Participant’s credit card account(s) within
Entries Accumulation Period. Tracking of Eligible Retail Transaction and Eligible Auto Billing Transaction(s)
will be on both the transaction and posting date, both of which must be during the Qualifying Period and
Entries Accumulation Period.

11. Eligible Auto Billing Transaction(s) are only applicable to the following service providers (“Selected Service
Providers”)

12. CIMB shall not be held responsible or liable for any delay in the posting of the Eligible Retail Transaction and
Eligible Auto Billing Transaction to the Eligible Participant’s credit card account and/or error or omission in
the posting of the same due to any reasons whatsoever and howsoever arising including but not limited to
the delay on the part of the merchant unless the same is due to the gross negligence and/or default of CIMB.
CIMB shall not be responsible for any failure and/or delay in the transmission of evidence of sales
transactions by Visa, MasterCard, merchant establishments or any other party unless the same is due to the
gross negligence or default of CIMB.

13. The Eligible Participant(s) who have successfully signed up the following CIMB Products during Campaign
Period shall be entitled for the entries as stipulated in Table 3:
a) CIMB Term Financing-i Secured by ASB Certificate and Group Term Financing Takaful
b) CIMB New-to-Current Account/Current Account-i or Savings Account/Savings Account-i
c) New Issuance/Renewal of Debit Card
d) Hire Purchase
e) Personal Financing

14. Credit card application submitted through CIMB Digital Partner channel means credit card application that
originates from participating website as approved by CIMB. For avoidance of doubt, CIMB credit card is
considered to originate from CIMB Digital Partner when the Applicant(s) clicks through CIMB Digital Partner
website via CIMB Credit Card application form and then the Applicant(s) continue the journey of application
submission in the following manner: -
i. complete an electronic CIMB Credit Card application form and upload all required supporting
documents on the CIMB Website; or
ii. give consent for information to be shared with CIMB for retail marketing consultant to contact them
for submission of their CIMB credit card application.

15. Upon the approval of NTC application in accordance with Clause 14 above, the Eligible Participants must activate
and spend with their new credit card on the Eligible Retail Transaction within the Entries Accumulation Period in
order to earn Welcome Bonus entries as stipulated in Table 3.

16. For avoidance of doubt, if the Applicant(s) have participated in any other concurrent campaigns or promotion
organized by CIMB Digital Partner, the Applicants shall not be entitled to participate under this Campaign.

Campaign Fulfilment

(a) Category 1 - Welcome Offer

17. The Welcome Offer and Cash Back (“Reward(s)”) will be credited to the Eligible Participants’ CIMB Principal
Cards account (“CIMB Account”) within sixteen (16) weeks from the end of the Campaign.

18. The Eligible Participant will receive notification of the Reward(s), if any, through the respective credit card
statement that follows after the date of the crediting of the Reward(s).

(b) Category 2 - Stand to Win RM1,000 Cash Back

19. At the end of each Entries Accumulation Period as stipulated in Table 4, the Eligible Participants will be
randomly shortlisted by an automated selection system from the total Entries earned during the Entries
Accumulation Period.

20. Subject to the terms and condition herein, the Bank’s automated system will generate a list of one hundred
and eighty (180) potential winners (“Potential Cash Back Winner(s)”) at the end of each Entries
Accumulation Period. A Short Message Service (“SMS”) notification will be sent once to each Potential Cash
Back Winner(s) and he/she will be required to answer one (1) question by replying to the said SMS with the
correct answer as soon as possible or within the deadline. The deadline (i.e. date and time) to answer the
question shall be specified in the SMS. The Potential Cash Back Winner(s) who have replied on the said SMS
with the correct answer will be declared as RM1,000 Cash Back winners.

21. In the event the Potential Cash Back Winner(s) does not answer correctly or did not reply within the given
deadline, he/she will be disqualified and will not be entitle to win the Cash Back and the Cash Back will be
forfeited. The forfeited Cash Back will not be given to the next potential winner. For avoidance of doubt,
standard telecommunications charges for the SMS response will apply and shall be borne by the Potential
Cash Back Winner(s).

22. CIMB reserves the right to use any other medium or method, including the CIMB’s website at
www.cimb.com.my for the purpose of announcing the Cash Back Winner(s).

23. The Eligible Participants’ CIMB Card account must be valid and must be in good standing as so determined
by CIMB at its discretion to be eligible for participation during and after the Campaign and/or for winning of
the Reward(s). If, at any time during the Campaign Period, the Eligible Participants cancel the CIMB Card for
any reason whatsoever, his/her participation in the Campaign becomes null and void with immediate effect.

24. In the event that any Reward(s) awarded to and received by person(s) who:
a) Are not an Eligible Participant in the Campaign; or
b) Are an Eligible Participant but has committed fraudulent or wrongful acts in relation to their Credit Card
and/or any transactions made thereof;
CIMB reserves the right to disqualify such person(s) from participating in the Campaign. The Reward(s) shall
stand forfeited.

25. The Eligible Participants’ credit card account MUST be valid and/or activated, MUST be in good standing and
MUST NOT be in breach of any of the terms and conditions in CIMB Cardholder Terms and Conditions and/or
CIMB Clicks Internet Banking Agreement and MUST NOT be invalid, cancelled or terminated within CIMB’s
definition at the point of delivering the Reward(s) otherwise the Eligible Participant will be disqualified from
receiving the Reward(s) and shall not be entitled to any compensation.

26. Eligible Participant who has fulfilled the Campaign Mechanics and Conditions and entitled for the Reward(s),
will not be entitled to receive any other gift/prize/reward in conjunction with CIMB’s or CIMB Islamic’s other
ongoing or future product or service sign-up/acquisition related campaign(s), which is held during the
Campaign Period.

General Terms and Conditions

27. CIMB will review, consider and decide on credit card applications submitted under this Campaign at its
discretion and may request for any further supporting documents as it deems fit. For the avoidance of doubt,
CIMB has sole and absolute discretion to determine if the supporting documents are sufficient for the
purpose of processing the credit card application submitted to CIMB.

28. The Eligible Participants agree that by participating in this Campaign, they:

a) have accessed, read and confirm their agreement to these Terms and Conditions;

b) consent to CIMB processing and disclosing their personal data in accordance with the CIMB Group
Privacy Notice at www.cimb.com.my;

c) agree that all decisions fairly and reasonably made by CIMB in relation to every aspect of this Campaign,
including the Reward(s) to be given away and determination of the Eligible Participants, shall be final,
binding and conclusive; and

d) agree that CIMB shall not be liable or held responsible to the Eligible Participants if CIMB is unable to
perform in whole or in part of any of its obligations in these Terms and Conditions attributable directly
or indirectly to:

(i) the failure of any mechanical or electronic device, data processing system or transmission line;
(ii) electrical failure;
(iii) industrial dispute, war, strike or riot;
(iv) any act of God beyond CIMB's control; or
(v) any factor in a nature of a force majeure which is beyond CIMB’s reasonable control.

29. The Eligible Participants will be disqualified from participating in this Campaign and/or the Reward(s) will be
forfeited if, during the Campaign Period and/or before the crediting of the Reward(s):

a) The Eligible Participants are in breach of the terms and conditions governing the Credit Card;

b) The Credit Card is terminated or closed or be made subject to any attachment, adverse orders made by
the Court or any authorities sanctioned by laws; or

c) The Credit Card is delinquent, invalid or cancelled by the Eligible Participants or CIMB.

30. CIMB shall have the right to disqualify any Eligible Participants that it determines to be:

a) tampering with the participation; and/or


b) acting in breach of these Terms and Conditions.

31. CIMB shall have the right to:

a) substitute the Reward(s) with other item(s) of similar cost; and/or


b) extend, shorten, discontinue, cancel, terminate or suspend this Campaign.

by giving fourteen (14) calendar days’ prior notice to the Eligible Participants via:

(i) announcement at CIMB’s website; and/or


(ii) notice at CIMB’s branches; and/or
(iii) notice at CIMB’s Currency Exchange counters; and/or
(iv) by any other means of notification which CIMB may select.

32. CIMB shall not be liable to any Eligible Participants or any party for any loss or damage (including but not limited
to, loss of income, profits or goodwill, direct or indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, punitive or
special damages) resulting from:

a. The Eligible Participants’ participation or non-participation in this Campaign; and/or


b. Any non-receipt or delayed receipt by the Eligible Participants of the Short Message Service (“SMS”)

unless such loss or damage arises from and is caused directly by CIMB’s gross negligence or wilful default.

33. a) CIMB shall have right to vary, add, delete, or amend any of these Terms and Conditions (“Amendment”)
by giving twenty-one (21) calendar days’ prior notice to the Eligible Participants via:

(i) announcement at CIMB’s website; and/or
(ii) notice at CIMB’s branches; and/or
(iii) notice at CIMB’s Currency Exchange counters; and/or
(iv) advertisement in one newspaper of CIMB’s choice; and/or
(v) by any other means of notification which CIMB may select.

b) The Amendment shall be considered as binding on the Eligible Participants from the date as specified by
CIMB in the notification.

c) Eligible Participants agree to access CIMB’s website at regular intervals to view the terms and conditions
of this Campaign and to ensure that they are kept up-to date with any variation to these Terms and
Conditions.

34. CIMB will not be liable to the Eligible Participants for any loss or damage suffered or incurred by the Eligible
Participants as a direct or an indirect result of the Amendment.

35. The Eligible Participants shall fully indemnify and keep the Bank indemnified against any fee, cost, charge,
expense, loss, damage or liability which the Bank may incur as a result of:
a) the Eligible Participants’ participation in this Campaign; and/or
b) the Eligible Participants’ receipt, redemption or use of the Reward(s).

36. These Terms and Conditions:

a) shall prevail over any provisions or representations contained in any other materials advertising this
Campaign; and
b) are to be read together with the prevailing terms and conditions of the Credit Card which shall apply in
addition to these Terms and Conditions.

37. These Terms and Conditions shall be subject to any prevailing laws, regulations and guidelines, directives,
notices issued by Bank Negara Malaysia or any other body having supervisory authority over CIMB from time
to time.

38. a) Eligible Participants may contact CIMB’s Customer Resolution Unit (“CRU”) for any feedback and/or
complaint in relation to this Campaign via letter, phone call, fax and email:

b) CIMB may change the above contact details by notifying the Eligible Participants by way of announcement
at CIMB’s website or by any other means of notification which CIMB may select.
