Một trong những rắc rối có thể gặp phải khi du học nước ngoài là nạn phân biệt
chủng tộc. Điều này ảnh hưởng nghiêm trọng đến đời sống sinh hoạt và học tập của các
du học sinh.
Phân biệt chủng tộc nhằm chỉ việc đối xử không công bằng, kỳ thị sự khác nhau về
màu da sắc tộc. Tình trạng này xảy ra phổ biến ở các nước châu Âu hay phương Tây.
Đối với các du học sinh, nạn phân biệt chủng tộc không chỉ xảy ra giữa người da
trắng với người da đen, mà còn diễn ra đối với người da màu, người châu Á.
Đặc biệt, nạn phân biệt chủng tộc trở nên nghiêm trọng khi dịch COVID-19 bùng
phát. Hầu hết, các du học sinh châu Á như Việt Nam hoặc Hàn Quốc đều bị nhầm lẫn là
người Trung Quốc. Họ thường xuyên phải đối diện với những ánh mắt kỳ thị, khinh miệt,
những lời bàn tán ở mọi địa điểm công cộng.
Vì vậy, phải làm gì nếu bạn gặp nạn phân biệt chủng tộc khi du học ?
Trước khi nhờ đến sự can thiệp của Pháp luật, bạn có thể đối phó với nạn phân biệt
chủng tộc bằng các cách sau:
– Nếu ở trường học, bạn hãy báo cáo với người có thẩm quyền cao nhất như Hiệu
trưởng, student hub, giáo viên hướng dẫn để được hỗ trợ bằng cách viết report hoặc gửi
email.
– Nếu sự kỳ thị xảy ra ở địa phương, hãy tìm đến chính quyền hoặc các trung tâm
hoạt động xã hội để được can thiệp và bảo vệ kịp thời.

One of the challenges that international students may encounter while studying
abroad is racial discrimination. This significantly affects the daily life and learning
experiences of international students.
 Racial discrimination refers to unfair treatment and prejudice based on differences
in racial or ethnic skin color. This issue is prevalent in European countries and Western
societies.
For international students, racial discrimination occurs not only between individuals
with white and black skin, but also towards people of color and Asians.
In particular, racial discrimination has become more severe with the outbreak of
COVID-19. Most Asian international students, such as those from Vietnam or South Korea,
are often mistaken for Chinese. They frequently face discriminatory gazes, contempt, and
rumors in public places.
Therefore, what should you do if you encounter racial discrimination while
studying abroad?
Before seeking legal intervention, you can deal with racial discrimination by taking
the following steps:
- If it occurs at your school, report the incident to the highest authority figure, such
as the principal, student hub, or your mentor teacher, to receive support through written
reports or emails.
- If the discrimination takes place within the local community, reach out to local
authorities or social service centers for timely intervention and protection.
