Group-A: Comprehensive Type Question

Compulsory Question [1×15=15]

produced from three elements E1, E2 and E3. Each product also
contains low cost element readily available. The contribution for
product A is Rs.30, product B is Rs. 50 and product C is Rs. 40
on profit. Each product utilizes the number of kilograms of each
element shown below:
Element product E1 E2 E3
A 2 0 3
B 3 2 2
C 0 5 4

These are the following limits on the amounts of elements

available, E1=800 kgs, E2=1000 kgs, and E3=1500 kgs.
Required:
Determine how much of each product should be produced to
maximize contribution.

Group-B: Long Answer Type Questions

Answer any TWO questions [2×10=20]
2. Upon closer inspection, the supplier determines that the demand
for batteries is normally distributed with mean 4 batteries per
day and standard deviation 3 batteries per day. (The supplier is
