He knew the thoughts and intents of the heart.

'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with
all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.'

"man after God's own heart"

" make melody in our heart to the Lord".( Eph 5 v. 19). Here is something we can do at any
time and in any place. We do not need a book
or a table or any other props, or even privacy

"incorruptible seed" of God, sown into the fleshy table of his heart (1 Peter 1 : 23) ;
and when this seed or word is received, the heart acquires a new mode of thinking

Who rejoices above all things in the humble and contrite heart

"Create in me a clean heart, Ο Lord",

out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face
of Jesus Christ" (2 Cor. 4:6),

The great man is he who does not lose his childhood's heart.
Mendus

He who looks, not upon externals, but upon the heart

"out of all the tribes, such as set their hearts to seek the Lord God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice
unto the Lord God of their fathers"
(2 Chron. 11:13-16).

"Mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and AVOID
THEM. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ. . ." for "by good words and fair speeches
(they) deceive the hearts of the simple" (Rom. 16:17,18).

Distress of nations, men's hearts failing them for fear

Jesus warns us in these words:

"Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness,
and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares, for as a snare it shall come upon all
them that dwell upon the face of the earth”

But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming, and shall begin to smite his
fellow-servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken, the Lord of that servant shall come in a day
when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of . . ,"

The reign of Jesus will change the world outlook, as two prophets declared, "At that time they shall call
Jerusalem the throne of the Lord and all nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to
Jerusalem, neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart" (Jer. 3:17).

Elpis Israel (the two principles)

Now while a righteous man feels this waywardness involuntarily at work in his members, he also
perceives something within him that condemns the "motions of sin" and suppresses them, so that he
does not obey wrong impulses. The best of men are conscious of these hostile principles within
themselves, like Paul who says "I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me,
for I delight in the law of God after the inward man, but I see another law in my members, warring
against the law of my mind" (Rom. 7: 21-23). Thus two principles abide in the saints of God so long as
they continue subject to mortality; the principle of evil and the principle of good. They are two laws
termed the "law of sin and death" and "the law of the spirit of life
in Christ Jesus".
Jesus being the incorruptible polished fleshy mirror which reflects the image of God. This image is but
obscurely impressed upon the fleshy tablets of our hearts, because we only perceive him by the eye of
faith

Now we face him in our hearts, so that we are ready for our Lord when he returns.
