Glen Stephens, 24, and his friend Gaby, 23, are mountain climbers. They work hard in their jobs, but in their free
time they travel to other countries and climb very dangerous mountains. Their last trip was to the Himalayas in
Nepal, to climb one of the highest mountains in the world. On a day in July, on their second week there, they
were climbing when the weather changed. Snow fell and it was terribly cold. ‘We can’t do it, it’s too difficult’,
Tom thought as he went into his tent for the night. They were exhausted. Nobody knew they were there and their
families thought they were dead. But they resisted and two days later, there was a miracle: the weather changed
and, on a clear afternoon, they got to the top of the mountain. A helicopter rescued them some hours later. Glen
and Gaby still go climbing and teach other people about their experiences.
