First of all I wanted to apologize for my English and if you don't understand something I leave it
written below in Spanish so Alvaro can translate it for you!

I want to tell you my concept of how I compose the songs and what I'm aiming for, maybe it
will help you as a guide, but I don't have much knowledge of mixing, you will decide if you can
do it or not.

I don't think about the guitars as lead guitar and rhythm guitar, I think of them as changing
protagonism depending on the part of the song. As for the tones, one is inspired by the clean
tones of the chilli peppers in the albums "by the way" and "stadium arcadium" and the other
more indie rocker like the arctic monkeys in "favorite worst nightmare" and "suck it and see".

AM = arctic monkeys guitar

The synths are placed more than anything as "mattresses" to complete the space and give
modernity, in case they give some type of problem at some point they can be removed, except
in some occasion that I will tell you specifically where for me they should be a little in front.

As for the bass, I usually do easy lines to accompany but if when you record it you want to
make arrangements or add more grace notes it would be amazing.

In the structures I am in favor of the song "growing" and expanding as it goes along, that the
parts are not the same as the other, for example, chorus 1 should not be identical to chorus 2
but there are small changes in guitars, drums, fx, etc, a reference could be the guitar
production of the song "Charlie" from "stadium arcadium" at first sight it seems that he always
plays the same, but if you pay attention, no verse is the same as the other.

Now I'll tell you how I did the songs separately.

I imagined it as a very "spacey" song with bouncing delays but at the same time very intimate,
maybe Álvaro will add an acoustic guitar in certain parts and you could use the arpeggio take
to make them live together, the guitar with a lot of distortion in the second verse is thought to
go to the background and play with the pan, it sounds like a violin or something like that, it's
not a solo nor would it look for the protagonism.

The drums I love the way they turned out, if they can hit punch I'd love it.

Lastly the bass, feel free to do whatever you want as I said before, I think it has a lot of space
to play with it

Puro cuento:
I think this is one of the ones that has more potential musically, I imagined it as a Californian
song, night, sand, palm trees, a bit sexy too, you can dance to it if you feel up to it, I started
writing it as an Amy Winehouse song in my mind and then it became something between rage
against the machine and red hot chilli peppers.

Here I do think that in some parts it would be interesting to put the synth "bells" in front, in
the interlude part before the stop when it gets a little jazzy and in the chorus at the end.

The interlude I would like the instrumentation to stand out and when the pause is done the
whole thing explodes with the pre-chorus with the whole drive.

I would like, the solo it not to be too bare, but to be nourished by the drums and the other
guitars and that when it ends the whole song dies and is as minimalist as possible, that it
generates a feeling of emptiness and that everything starts again since the end should be the
same as the beginning.

Merecido respeto:

Here I don't have much to say, the strange effect of the chorus guitars, is made with a "line 6
M5" with the "voice box" model and I recorded different takes with the effect changing vocals
in case any of them don't convince you.

The guitar harmonics in my imagination I wanted them to sound like they do in "dangerous
animal" by arctic monkeys

recorded them simple so as not to screw it up.

Quiero contarte mi concepto de cómo es que yo compongo las canciones y hacia a donde
apunto, tal vez te sirva de guía, pero como no tengo muchos conocimientos de mezcla tu
decidirás si puedes hacerlo o no

Las guitarras yo no las pienso como guitarra principal y guitarra rítmica, sino que vayan
cambiando de protagonismo dependiendo la parte de la canción. En cuanto a los tonos, una
esta inspirada en los tonos cleans de los chilli peppers en los albums “by the way” y “stadium
arcadium” y la otra mas indie rocker como los arctic monkeys en el “favorite worst nightmare”
y “suck it and see”

Los synths están puestos mas que nada como “colchones” para completar el espacio y dar
modernidad, en caso de que en algún momento molesten se pueden quitar, excepto en alguna
oportunidad que te lo diré específicamente donde para mi deberían ir un poco al frente

En cuanto al bajo, yo suelo hacer líneas fáciles para acompañar pero si cuando lo grabes
quieres hacer arreglos o meter más notas de gracia quedaría increíble

En las estructuras yo estoy a favor de que la canción vaya “creciendo” y expandiéndose a

medida que transcurre, que las partes no sean igual una de la otra, por ejemplo, el coro 1 no
sea idéntico al coro 2 sino que haya pequeños cambios tanto en guitarras, como batería, fx,
etc, una referencia podría ser la producción de guitarras de la canción “Charlie” del “stadium
arcadium” a simple vista parece que siempre tocara lo mismo, pero si se presta atención,
ningún verso es igual al otro

Ahora te contare como hice las canciones por separado

Aquí:

Yo imagine como una canción muy “espacial” delays rebotando pero a su vez muy íntima, tal
vez Álvaro agregue una guitarra acústica en ciertas partes y podrías usar la toma del arpegio
para que convivan entre sí, la guitarra con mucha distorsión del segundo verso está pensada
para que vaya al fondo y juegue con el pan, que parezca como un violín o algo así, no es un
solo ni tampoco buscaría el protagonismo

Las baterías amo como quedaron, si pueden golpear duro me encantaría

Por último el bajo, siéntete libre de hacer lo que quieras como te dije antes, creo que tiene
mucho espacio para jugar con el

Esta creo que es una de las que mas potencial tiene en cuanto a lo musical, yo me la imagine

Aquí si creo que en algunas partes seria interesante poner el synth “bells” al frente, en la parte
del interludio antes del paro cuando se vuelve un poco jazzy y en los estribillos del final

El interludio me gustaría que resalte la instrumentación y que cuando haga la pausa explote
todo con el pre-chorus con todo el drive

El solo me gustaría que no quedara muy desnudo, sino que se nutra con la batería y las otras
guitarras y que cuando termine muera toda la canción y quede lo mas minimalista posible, que
genere como una sensación de vacío y que todo vuelve a empezar ya que el final tendría que
ser igual que el principio

Aquí no tengo mucho para decir, el efecto extraño de las guitarras del chorus, está hecho con
un “line 6 M5” con el modelo “voice box” y grabe distintas tomas con el efecto cambiando de
vocales por si alguna no te convence

Los armónicos de la guitarra en mi imaginación quería que sonaran como suenan en

“dangerous animal” de arctic monkeys

los grabe simples para no cagarla
