Dear Postgraduate Residents & Esteemed members of ASI,
The Association of Surgeons of India, in its pursuit to promote academics has been conducting
the Regional refresher Courses (RRC) in the different zones in the country since 2015. This has been
the most vibrant academic activity of ASI, with huge participation from both trainees and members
.
Postgraduate students selected through a highly competitive MCQ test in the region get the unique
opportunity to make the clinical case presentation in front of a chosen galaxy of eminent senior faculty
who are the leading teachers and examiners of the region, giving the RRCs a resemblance of MS/DNB
exit examination. Presenting residents as well as the participating delegates hence get contemporary
update on the scientific knowledge.
In the year 2023, we are taking the RRC in the physical platform at six different zones in the country.
We have immense pleasure in welcoming you to this academic extravaganza.

Regional Refresher Course-4 for Zone - 4

(Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala & Karnataka)
Dates: 25, 26 & 27 August 2023

Friday 25th August 2023 is for Hands on training on Suturing, knotting, Anastomosis (Bowel, Ureteric &
Vascular), staplers, Endotrainers, energy sources etc. This needs a separate Registration and will be
closed on first cum first served basis at 96 participants. There will be NO spot registration for this.

Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 will be devoted for clinical case discussions with few important lectures.
Registration for this is also mandatory.
