This document argues that teachers' salaries in Florida should be raised. It notes that Florida ranks 48th in teacher pay and that teachers earn on average $51,000 a year, which is low given their education level and long work hours. Raising salaries would help retain quality teachers, attract talented candidates, and boost the state's economy by giving teachers more money to spend. The document concludes by stating that higher pay is necessary to properly value teachers and support students' education.

• Florida is ranked 48th in 2021-2022 teachers’ salaries.
• A public school teacher is only paid 51000 dollars an year. • Teachers work long hours but don’t get paid nearly enough for what they do. • They do a thankless job but are taken for granted. • Often they are paid less than people who have jobs that do not require as much education • It is time that we start to value our teachers more REASONS FOR THE SALARY INCREASE
• The cost of living is rising faster than the rate of inflation
• In order to retain the best teachers. • Teachers are working for long hours • They often have to take second jobs • Teachers in Florida have to deal with a lot of stress. • It is a good investment for future Florida SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE OF UNDERPAYMENT
• The basic solution is to increase salaries
• There is a need to set a minimum amount of salary • Professional development through mentorship programs • Raising awareness about the current wage situation • Create incentives for districts to pay their teachers • Teachers can unionize and negotiate for higher salaries BENEFITS TO THE SOCIETY • Best brains will be attracted to the profession • Children will receive a better education • Will results in a better-educated population • Businesses will benefit from an educated workforce • Teachers will be compensated for vital work. • Boost to the state economy as teachers have more money to spend CONCLUSION • It’s time for a change. • Based on my arguments, it is evident that teachers’ salaries should be raised • Teachers being forced to work multiple jobs is not right • Better salaries will attract and retain the best brains • It is not easy but its an investment worth making • Our students' future depends on it!
