What is the student learning goal for this lesson idea? I want my students to understand what

How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

☒ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and are
mostly practice-based.

learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates

the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.
(Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing
it via an outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation:
I plan for my students to create a written list of ways to implement safety systems when accessing
the internet to produce internet safety and privacy. My students will be made familiar with privacy
and security after watching the video I created. They will then construct a written response of
examples to keep their personal information safe. After their written responses, they will
communicate with their tables to collectively come up with four examples per table group to share
with the class. They will get to create a similar video to mine but instead the content will be all their
ideas they produced. The lesson will conclude by reviewing the Adobe Express video they will create.
Managing student learning:
The beginning of the lesson will be teacher centered, or passive social learning, as I introduce the Adobe
Express video that displays digital citizenship, privacy, and security. Then, my students will shift into active
social learning, or learner centered learning, when they independently work to create a list of ways to have a
private, safe, and secure online presence. They will have a period to complete this activity before we create
our updated Adobe Express video listing all the ideas my students came up with.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection:
I equipped my students with the UDL principle of Multiple Means of Engagement. There are
independent activities, large group activities, and group discussion. The students will work
independently when creating various scenarios to protect their personal information online. They
will work will their groups while discussing the methods they created.
Reflection:
Students will be able to receive the information presented and understand the concepts. They will
then get a chance to apply their recently gained knowledge by analyzing what they know. Finally,
they will conclude the lesson by creating their own Adobe Express video.
