1. What are examples or specific conditions of the equipment or


furniture/fixtures that would need repair and maintenance

ANSWER:

for suspicious persons on the floor, including
employees who have no obvious business there.
B. Report presence of such persons immediately.
C. Report situations that might be irregular and lead
to serious trouble
D. Employees are instructed to report any minor
irregularities on the floors.

enforced.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

1. What are OHS? Give some examples of emergency situations that can
occur in the workplace?

ANSWER:
A is a source or a situation with potential for harm in terms of human or
ill-health damage to property, damage to the environment, or a
combination of these.

Potential emergency situations include: emergencies requiring


evacuation, fires and explosions, hazardous substance and chemical
spills, explosions and bomb alerts, security emergencies, such as armed
robberies, intruders and disturbed persons, internal emergencies, such as
loss of power of water supply and structural collapse and external
emergencies and natural disasters.

2. What are the elements in the implementation of emergency


procedures?

A. Identify potential emergencies-Knowledge on
OHS hazard and standards; Develops risk
registers
B. Identify options for initial response- Actions
required to contain or limit potential
emergencies are identified.

required for a number of major types of
emergency are documented, taking accounts of
standards, current industry practice, specialist
advice and input by emergency agencies.
D. Implement initial response procedure- actions
for initial response are documented and
displayed for easy access.
E. Contribute to post event activities- Other
personnel in second response phase are
identified, and supported to ensure they are
provided with necessary and relevant
information as well as resources.
F. Emergency response is monitored and
deficiencies addressed- Response to emergencies
are monitored for efficiency and timeliness in
consultation with stakeholders and as
appropriate,
specialist advisers and agencies.
