AGE CATEGORIES AND ELIGIBILITY

The following age group will be in the tournament.

Under 10 years boys ---------- Born or after 01.01.2013.
Under 12 years boys ---------- Born or after 01.01.2011.
Under 14 years boys ---------- Born or after 01.01.2009.
Under 16 years boys ---------- Born or after 01.01.2007.
Under 19 years boys --------- -Born or after 01.01.2004.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. All the participants should bring their own chess board, chessmen, scribbling pad, pen and chess clock.
2. The participants can enrol their names in the category in accordance with the norms.
3. “SWISS” system will be followed.
4. Any malpractices if found will lead to disqualification of the school.
5. Entries should be given through ONLINE only; oral or telephonic communication will not be entertained.
6. A player is allowed to participate in one category only.
7. Food will be arranged for players and team managers only on request.
8. Entry form should reach the School on or before 3RD JULY, 2023 05:00 PM.
9. The matches will be conducted by qualified Arbiters.
10. Parents are not permitted at the tournament place.
11. Decision given by the Arbiter will be final and binding.
12. The school will not be responsible for any injuries sustained during the tournament.
13. Participating students should not damage any property of the School, in case, if any type of Breakage or loss
to the school property, compensation will be charged from the concerned school.
14. No team will be allowed to participate without PET/PD designated by their school principal.
15. Students will be responsible for their things/belongings.

IDENTITY PROOF
1. All the Principals are requested to ensure the correctness of the date of birth of each participant while signing
the entry form. All the entry form must be duly signed by the PD / PET and the principal.
2. Date of birth and all other details of the participants must be as per school records.
3. ID Card or Bonafide Certificate with Name, Date of Birth, Photo attested by the head of institution must be
produced.
4. A player studying in grade IX, X should provide CBSE registration number.
5. A player studying in grade XI, XII should provide a Xerox copy of grade X pass certificate as issued by the
board.

ENTRIES:
• Each school should send only one participant for each category.
• The filled entry form in original should reach THE PRINCIPAL on or before 3RD JULY, 2023

• Whatever the reason may be, on the spot entry and late entry will not be entertained.
• Mail delay will not be considered as an excuse for accepting late entry.
• The participating school must confirm that their entry/eligibility form has reached the organizing school
before the due date.
• All the entry forms should be signed only by the principal and PD / PET
• Participants those who have their current FIDE ID number and current FIDE rating should mention in the
entry form.
ELIGIBILITY PROFORMA:

• The form should not bear un-authorized over writing as the organizing school would not consider it.
• An incomplete form in any aspect will not be entertained.
• Any violation of eligibility (over age or impersonation) shall be dealt with according to the rules of Tirupur
Sahodaya Schools Complex.

DISQUALIFICATIONS:

A Player may be disqualified for the following reasons.

• Misbehaviour during play.
• Using abusive Language inside campus.
• Misbehaviour with officials / opponents.
• Indiscipline during the opening and closing ceremonies.

RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR CHESS

1. FIDE rules in force shall be followed.

2. a) All players have to play all rounds, irrespective of their results in each round.
b) Same players will not play against each other twice in tournament.
c) Players with same points will be paired as far as possible.
d) Players will be allotted alternate colours in each round as far as possible.
e) A player will not get the same colour three times consecutively.
3. Duration of play: 30 Mints for each player. Total duration of a game is 1 hour. Clocks may be
introduced at any time by the arbiter, dividing the balance time between two players. Grace time 10
mints from the start of each round.
4. Players are requested to check their results before leaving the hall. Any correction afterwards may
not be entertained.

5. The Arbiter’s decision is final and binding on all players.

6. If any error found in the age proof of a player, will be disqualified at any time during the tournament.
7. Two illegal moves, the player will be declared lost.
8. Do not uses cell phones while playing, if your phone rings while playing, you will be declared lost.
