PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO has a glimpse of the "RAM-RAJYA" the 3 shadows narrating in the background was like a podcast;
which we get to see in the RAMAYANA. It portrays a kingdom as loved their spontaneity. ―

Sita -amish ―
ANONYMOUS Sita sings the blues actually provokes the audience to reflect upon
the ramayan that they are familiar with and points out the fatal
flaws in this heavily glorified epic ―
ANONYMOUS
Which animation style / storyline did you The conversation between the three shadow figures made things
like and why? more interesting and hilarious ―
ANONYMOUS
this one ―
ANONYMOUS the line "I WAS HIS ONLY ONE AND NOW I AM ALL ALONE"
―
ANONYMOUS
I loved the cartoony style of Sita Sings The Blues because it I loved the 3 shadows doing the podcast thing and the storyline
undermines the "unquestionable" tag of the epics and enables where there are comparisons between ramayan and modern
discussion on topics formerly treated as gospel. I loved the shadow version is my favorite . I also like the fact that they also showed
puppets bits the most ―
ANONYMOUS that sita could have returned with hanuman but didnt , and
showing that each and every character did some wrong leading to
blood shed ―
ANONYMOUS
I like the dialogue delivery and non-song animations.
―
ANONYMOUS
this one because of the prespective shown through songs and
animations ―
ANONYMOUS
I liked how it highlighted how Sita felt through songs and
animation. ―
ANONYMOUS
I have known the whole prevalent story of the Ramayana but had
never seen it being represented in such a way where you also
the animated version where goddess Sita was singing English
question the events that happened after them returning from
songs etc. ―
ANONYMOUS
Lanka. So I liked the parts where it showed us more than the
generic narrative. ―
ANONYMOUS
The character models; and the parallels drawn between
relationships today and Ramayana ―
ANONYMOUS
this animation is one of my favourite and I really love the storyline
which dave and nina shared. and the animation where sita askes
I liked background music ―
ANONYMOUS rama to catch the golden deer was also really good ―
ANONYMOUS
When the question of RAAVANS Character comes up! The American couple and the parallel between their story and the
―
ANONYMOUS ramayana. ―
ANONYMOUS
As a cinematographer, I love anything that has originality, fusion Animation style consisting of motion graphics, 3d animation and
of 2d, realistic camera work, squiggle motion and GOOD SOUND good bg. ―
ANONYMOUS
EFFECTS THAT COMPLEMENT THE VISUALS! ―
ANONYMOUS
I liked how the director Nina Paley relates herself with Sita
I like how the 3 different styles Sita singing, the actual storytelling throughout the story. To be more precise, we see that in the climax,
and the modern story of Nina are shown simultaneously. Sita finds her solace in Mother Earth and Nina Paley finds her
―
ANONYMOUS solace by reading the story Ramayana in itself. ―
ANONYMOUS
I liked the conversation between the three shadow figures how the three puppets talks about each scene from different

nina" ―
ANONYMOUS
It was really creatively depicted, the narration in the form of the parallel drawn between modern day women and sita
shadow puppets was eye catching. Sound effects were good as well. ―
ANONYMOUS
―
ANONYMOUS
no idea ―
ANONYMOUS
I loved this movie because of its creative style and its crude
language. Nina challenges the blind faith of people in the hero this one... though there are some facts missing but the sufferings of
figure of Ram and is very blunt about it. I love how she makes us sita are all true.. i mean did the film lie tho ―
ANONYMOUS
introspect on the ingrained patriarchy in us and our
unwillingness to question anything which might seem religiously
I liked how the three shadow puppets add humour to the story
wrong. Like most people felt a little disturbed by the language.
―
ANONYMOUS
doesn't that shows how we have been moulded to think in a certain
way and not to question religion or question it in limits.
the one in which songs were portrayed because it shows sita's

feeling most correctly ―
