Drive Installation

Remove all wire duct lids. Remove original servo 3

drive and all associated wiring, except incoming
power (L1 and L2) and ground wire(s). These will 2
be used with new servo drive.

Remove servo power, encoder, and I/O cables.

Remove resistor and associated wiring.

Mount the drive into control box using existing
mounting screws.

Terminate wiring using existing L1, L2, and

ground wires.

Route and dress wires neatly in ductwork.

Next, using the supplied 2 conductor cable,

terminate one end of the RED wire to the +24V
side of the drive and the other end to + side of the
24VDC power supply. (Alternately, the +24V
terminal block can be used.)

Then, connect the BLK end to the 0V side of the SERVO DRIVE
servo drive and the other end to the - side of the
power supply. (Alternately, the LGND terminal
block can be used.) 24V PSU

Route and dress wires neatly in ductwork.

Motor Installation

Take note of the original setup, especially the

cable routing and belt tensions. Remove relevant
belts and sprockets.Complete original motor and
power and encoder cable removal if still
connected on this end. Retain mounting hardware
for new motor installation.

Remove original motor.

Install and mount new motor by reversing removal
process.

Ensure that motor is mounted without cables and

and ensure that receptacles are on the side of the
motor as shown to allow for easiest access.

receptacles

Starting from inside the control box, route the

power cable through the high voltage conduit.

Similarly, route the encoder cable through the low

voltage conduit. Low voltage
upper conduit

High voltage
lower conduit

Plug and screw down the power and encoder

cables unto motor.

Take all excess cabling slack back into control box

and neatly dress using tie wraps where
appropriate.

Neatly dress cabling using clips and tie wraps

where appropriate.

Control Box Wiring
I/O cable plug.
Terminate the power cable U,W, V leads as
labeled.
Encoder cable plug
(CN1)
Plug the encoder cable into drive as shown.

Note that power cable is laid into wire duct, but

that that encoder cable does not. The excess Power cable
encoder cable should be coiled neatly on control termination
box bottom and loosely tie warpped as shown.

Plug servo I/O cable into servo drive (see previous

photo).

Terminate the following:

1) CN1-4 to PCB J1-4 (servo ON)
2) CN1-10 to PCB J1-10 (servo INP)
3) CN1-9 to PCB J1-11 (servo alarm)
4) CN1-23 to PCB J2-4 (servo PP)
5) CN1-22 to PCB J2-5 (servo PG)
6) CN1-13 to PCB J2-7 (servo DOCOM [GND])
7) CN1-8 to PCB J2-14 (servo GND)

PCB J2
PCB J1
8) CN1-1 to PCB J3-4 (servo DICOM [+24V])

Remove safety lockout and re-energize machine.

The packer is ready to operate!
