1920’s Radio Show Guidelines


ASSIGNMENT: You work for the CBC as a radio programmer during the Roaring Twenties.
The year is 1928 and you and your partner(s) are to write a radio script (which you will
perform for the class) for 3-5 minutes of programming.
PROCEDURE: You need to include the following:
❖ An example of music that one might hear in the 1920s. Think about intro/exit music
for your segment
❖ Your radio segment has to accurate for the period - CANADA in the 1920s
❖ Use real characters/personalities to help tell your stories
❖ Use slang of the time period (at least 10 terms) and appropriate language

OPTIONAL:
❖ Interviews with famous people of the time period
❖ Sound effects
❖ We will deliver the “Live” Radio Broadcast on APRIL 11th
❖ The following topics/themes need to be assigned!
