How will this lesson be implemented? Check all that apply.

☐ Teacher-directed: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations.

x Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic for
presentation and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. Products of
learning will be uniquely designed. Teacher simply facilitates the learning in a lesson like this.

☐ Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their learning

displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.

Lesson idea implementation:

Students will be able to log in and have the full experience in online learning and
reading. As part of the software, I will give them numerous games to complete and show
creative ways to read and comprehend what they have just learned.

Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that
gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you manage the
classroom behaviors on the technology:
Students will complete this task and record their comprehension on a table to see how
their minds develop over time. They will list the time it took them to complete each task
and compare throughout the semester. They will also be paired with other students with a
similar reading time so they are not pressured.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL):
This lesson plan helps students engage, represent and act and express. Students will help
each other be engaged in their learning by completing different skills and games. They can
express their learning by completing quizzes throughout the program and learn more
information through their peers. This Splash Learn program also offers data to help track
students’ learning.

Reflecting on enhanced learning:

After designing this idea, I feel that students will be more engaged in their learning. This
will help them to creatively complete through the lesson and feel that they are having fun
while learning.
