A. Physical Task: Length

1. Present table no.1 and explain the contents in paragraph form.

Individual Experiment Datasheet Template

12-inch ruler Tape measure Meter stick

Short bond paper 13.125 inches 13 inches 13.1875 inches

Blackboard 49 inches 47 inches 48.125 inches

Door 83.125 inches 82 inches 83 inches

2. Compare the gathered data. What can you observe?

Each measuring tool that we use didn’t have the same result in those objects that we measure.
3. Are the measurements precise? Why or why not?
Yes, the measurements on the short bond paper are precise while on the blackboard and the door is
not precise I think because we need to double each measuring tool to get the measurements of those
objects because they are too long for our measuring tools or maybe each measuring tools are not
same when it comes to inches because when I compare each tool they have a difference when it
comes to a gap in each inch.
4. What do you think is the reason for variations in the data obtained, if there are any?
It is because we use different measuring tools for each object. Yes, we measure those objects with
inches but each tool is not the same when I compare them there are gaps that are longer than other
measuring tools and sometimes the way we measure the objects sometimes we have errors when we
try to double the measurement of the object because the object that we measure is longer than our
measuring tools.
5. What is more accurate in measuring the blackboard? Why?
Tape measure, because it is the measuring tool that is close to the length of the blackboard so that
we cannot make more errors when measuring the objects because the more we double the
measurement of the object the more we can cause an error to the measurements of the object.
6. What is more accurate in measuring a short bond paper? Why?
Meter stick, because in meter stick we can see the measurement immediately we don’t need to
double the tools to see the measurement.
7. What is more accurate in measuring the door? Why?
A meter stick, because the height of the door is too tall if we use a tape measure you need to use a
person to make it steady but with a meter stick you can use measure the door even with one person
and also it is close to the measurement of the door.

B. Physical Task: Volume
1. Present table no.1 and explain the contents in paragraph form.

1st Cup 2nd Cup

2. What happened to the volume of water? Compare the gathered data in terms of
● Initial volume of water
The initial volume of the water is one-fourth cup
● Final volume of water
The final volume of the water is rise to double of the water when we add a stone
● Volume of 2 stones/pebbles/rocks.
The initial volume of the water is 60 ml and the final volume of cup A is 75 ml while cup B is 70 ml
so the volume of the stone in cup A 15 grams while cup B is 10 grams. I less the final volume to the
initial volume to get the volume of the stone.

25 mL 50 mL 100 mL

10.5 46.0 78.5

2. Convert the volumes to liters. Show your solutions.

3. Suppose you are in the investigation scene and you need to measure exactly 20.0 mL of
solution.
● Which graduated cylinder would be appropriate to use? Explain.
I will use the 25 ml graduated cylinder because it is allowing us to give an accurate
amount that we need
● Enumerate at least 2 right practices to consider when measuring the volume of any liquid
substances?

1. We need to place the graduated cylinder on a flat surface so that we can see the accurate
volume of the liquid substances.

2. When we already put a liquid substance into the graduated cylinder we need to level our eye to
the line of the liquid to make sure the accurate measurements.

D. Virtual Task: Mass

1. Present table no.1 and explain the contents in paragraph form.
Cone Cube

542 g 429.3 g

Light bulb Paper clips

246 g 5.4 g

2.Compare the gathered data in terms of mass.

The cone and Cube are the heaviest of all because they are solid objects while the light bulb is next
to the two because it is a hollow object there is empty space inside and the last is a paper clip
because of its thin characteristic its mass is the least of all.

3. Convert the data gathered from grams to milligrams.

4. Suppose you are analyzing the situation of a practicum on how to measure the mass of an
object using a triple beam balance.
● How will you explain if you got the right mass of an object using a triple beam balance?
When the pointer is aligned and when you align it with its correct mass you will see that the no.
below the pointer will turn x20.
● What does it mean when you move the riders to the right, the pointer goes down below the zero
mark?
If the pointers go down to zero it means that you already pass through the correct mass of the
object.
● What does it mean when you move the riders to the right but the pointer is still above the zero
mark?
If the pointers are still above the pointer even if you move it to the right it means that you need to
add more grams to make the raider goes down by moving the bigger unit of the riders to the right.

E. Problem Solving

Direction: Solve the following problems and show your solution. Follow proper significant figures
and rounding off rules for the final answer. Box your final answers.
1. During the experiment, the students were asked to weigh solid substances. The following are the
weights of the substances:

S1 S2 S3 S4 S5

3.5 g 3.62 g 4.57 g 15.003 g 17.002 g

a. What is the total weight of S1 and S5?

b. What is the total weight of the five substances?
c. How many significant figures are present on the total weight?
2. What is your final volume if you will add these substances: (1) 56.890 mL, (2) 12.002 mL, and
(3) 0.99 mL?
3. The average volume of blood in an adult male is 4.7 L. What is this volume in milliliters?
4. How many feet per second (ft/sec) is a wave going if it travels a distance of 1.00 miles in 7.35
seconds? (1 mile= 5280 ft)
5. A leaky pipe drips 1 drop of water every 1.50 seconds. How many ml of water will be wasted
as a result of 14 days of a leak? (1.00ml=20 drops)
