Description of the natural features


It is located at an altitude of 1,230 m. It
has a temperate and humid mountain
climate, with an average temperature of
22º C. and very rainy during the summer.

What people can do there


Turibus whose tour begins and ends in front of the
Cathedral of San Miguel Arcángel. The tour lasts
approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.
You can take a ride on the cable car, which is unique in
the southeast of the country and connects the Plaza
Pichucalco with the top of Cerro del Borrego.
You can visit the Municipal Pantheon, the Ignacio de la
Llave Theater, the Ex Convent of San Juan de la Cruz
and the Temple of Carmen and the Cathedral Tower
Museum.

Every July 16, since 1736, the Virgen del
Carmen has been honored in Orizaba. There
is a procession through some of the streets
of the town, then the procession returns to
the church and the celebration concludes
with a popular verbena.

When to visit
It is advisable to visit between
May and October, although
the mountain is covered with
snow all year round.
